Decatur Utilities Press Release (crew not turned away, but ...)
Decatur Utilities ^ | November 2, 2012 | Decatur Utilities

Posted on 11/02/2012 2:54:09 PM PDT by EveningStar

Decatur Utilities sent a 6-man crew to the Northeast Wednesday, October 31, bound for Seaside Heights, N.J., to assist with power restoration. Communication with Seaside Heights was poor due to lack of cell phone service in the area. Upon arriving at a staging area in Virginia, crews were held in place pending clarification of documents received from IBEW that implied a requirement of our employees to agree to union affiliation while working in the New York and New Jersey areas. It was and remains our understanding that agreeing to those requirements was a condition of being allowed to work in those areas. As we waited for clarification, we became aware that Seaside Heights had received the assistance they needed from other sources. To be clear, at no time were our crews 'turned away' from the utility in Seaside Heights.

In connection with state and regional public power associations, Decatur Utilities attempted to contact other areas that needed assistance. However, based on the uncertainty of union requirements that we could not agree to and the uncertainty of whether a resolution could be reached, we ultimately made the decision to return them to Decatur after being stalled in the Virginia area most of the day on Thursday.

There's no excerpt requirement for press releases.

To sum up, they left because the site had already received the help they needed from other sources. However, if they had stayed, they would have had to agree to union affiliation.

Unions: “Show us your papers.”

For years, I’ve been calling them “communionists.”

They prove me correct time and time again.

New Jersey liberals prefer Obama next Tuesday.
They are probably craving for Obamacare to kick in.

Standing in lines for 6 hours for Gas will give them good practice runs for their Government dispensed Obamacare.

So we are to assume that Staten Island and the entire Jersey coast doesn’t need non-union electrical/telephone repair personnel. Sounds OK to me, but maybe they should have asked the victims instead of the union/state mobs.

If they had been able to stay and help, that would have freed up a crew to help out further up the coast. Rather than sending a crew back to Alabama while people are still without power.

It’s stories like this that wake up the silent (and often stupid) majority.

Could SOMEONE in the Media ask The Messiah, “with the Hurricane Sandy devastation, do you support the Union’s Requirement that out-of-State crews MUST Affiliate with the Union’s before they are permitted to help in the restoration? Do you believe Right-to-Work States sending help is NOT allowed by Unions in their areas, and is it fair to the people who live there?”

Sounds like “No, we don’t want you here.” to me.

Agreed.

This is like when radical Muslim nations turn down Israeli help during emergencies.

The unions wanted a cut of the money that was to be paid to out-of-state workers. I’m betting that once they were “affiliates”, the OOS workers would have to pay some sort of dues to the union.

So how does this square with the audio from the Hannity radio show today: “scab, scumbag, expletives, filth, etc.”?

Sean Hannity played the audio file of the commies screaming obscenities at volunteers and calling them names like scab and screaming for them to get their asses out of there. These people are rabid dogs.

So how does this square with the audio from the Hannity radio show today:

It was an expected polite explanation that the crews were indeed turned away because they could not agree to the demands of the NJ IBEW.........

For years, I’ve been calling them “communionists.”

That's all they are -- Marxists.

Unions should be outlawed in the United States. What right should anyone have to tell his employer how much he should be paid?

North Jersey? Not Marxists... try Mafia. They run the unions there, every one of them.

Like Ram Emanuial said, 'Never let a crisis go to waste' and the Wise Guys up there are going to make a hell of a lot of money over this storm. Count on it. If you want to play, you got to pay.

I hope there is video of the scum who yelled at the volunteers.

True Jerseyans will make their loves miserable. they are in no mood to put up with this nonsense.

I have two sons pulling up to 22 hour shifts, one guarding downed power lines in Monmouth County, the other trying to get the phone system up at the Seaside Heights police station. One got his home’s power restored yesterday in Toms River, and one is still without power in Lakehurst.

They have put up with no heat, no gasoline, no showers—yet they get up each morning to do their best in the face of utter devastation.

We live in southern DE, and we got through Sandy with very few problems.
This afternoon we were in Dover, DE, and saw a fifteen truck convoy from Chain Electric from somewhere in Mississippi heading north

Well,I lost it, knowing they were on the way to help my sons and so many others in NY and Nj who need them so much. God bless them for coming to help, it was like watching the Cavalry come to the rescue.

Even the Mafia and the unions know better than to piss off millions of Jerseyans.

When I heard about this story this morning, I emailed Gov. Christie, sent the article to Fox and Friends, called .congressman ,Chris Smith’s office, called Senator Frank Lautenburg’s office and even called Sen. Jeff Sessions of AL’s office to investigate this.

NJ needs all the help they can get, and let me tell you, they are grateful, for all of it.

GOD bless you and ALL of the good people affected by Sandy. Many groups from the South will help as soon as they can safely start helping. I know that Mississippi Power sent about 70 trucks north... some are in Maryland. I think Haynes Electric sent up some trucks also.

We had linemen from all over the country down here after Katrina. I had a New Jersey crew at my business after Katrina and when I thanked them for their helping our area, they said that they were enjoying helping to restore civilization. They were some righteous people and I was at least able to give them sold cold Cokes.
