State troopers have been dispatched to gas stations along the New Jersey turnpike to supervise Sandy survivors already shaken by the storm as authorities anticipate the tempers to grow as fuel supplies diminish.
They are again being tested yet again by dangerously dwindling gas supplies amid massive blackouts, leftover from Mondays killer storm. Throughout New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, gas is running out, and many stations within the city are additionally crippled, as they have no power.

Welcome Back Carter.
Reminds me of the 70s.
I wonder how long it will take before chaos ensues?
At least Obama is in charge, and as King of the North East, he can save, help, feed, clothe, bath, heat everyone! Bring on the cake, and here, vote for me...
Obama will soon regret ever getting involved in this mess. He should have been letting the Mayors, Governors, FEMA, National Guard run the show, with his unwavering financial support. Axe and you shall recieve, but I’ll leave it up to you experts.....that are there, and on the ground.
Bravo! History has a great sense of humor, along with repeating itself. Benghazi is like Iran affair, now this, the bad economy.
What is also really funny, is that for all the criticism Bush got, the Dems claimed they could do better. Well, they had all these years to improve disaster response, study Katrina, but the fact remains, that disasters are terrible things, and nothing can alleviate the pain, cost. What comes around, goes around and vice versa and all that...
And after yesterday and today, Obama owns this mess. hehe
This sorry excuse for a President we now have has done everything in his power to cripple the country with limited gasoline supplies and high fuel prices; trying to replace our automobiles with tin-can electric vehicles that burst into flames at the drop of a hat. Where does he think ELECTRICITY comes from? Unicorn farts? Magic unicorn farts?! - He still retains the liberal dream of vehicles that run on unicorn farts and windmills as far as the eye can see. Can you imagine the tangled mass of windmills in the wake of this hurricane? - Honestly, I agree with Rush; I cannot stomach to hear another sound byte featuring the Teleprompter Reader!
Just need a leisure suit and the Bee Gees.
Look at the price at the pump then! And we still complained it was to d@rn high! Boy,we’re we spoiled! n/s
Didn’t learn a thing from Katrina. How many days did they have to get containers of gasoline, fill up cars, buy food, blankets, plywood, batteries? If my house was flooded tonight we’d get along for 2-4 weeks without ever having to hit the stores. Geesh. Don’t people know how to plan any more? Silver-lining; Obama gets to be the scapegoat this time. Karma ain’t a nice lady.
Pretty much everyone I know at the Shore filled their cars, bought gallons and gallons of water, a week or more of food supplies, bought batteries and boarded up their houses.
All the batteries were gone the Thursday before Sandy, by the way.
The main thing 90% of these people need is gas, not the other stuff.
You can only store so much gasoline in a home which could get crushed in a storm before you start creating a whole other set of hazards.
Do away with the absurd price gouging laws, and supplies will pour into the area. Also, higher prices cause people to conserve so that there is more for everybody.
Whenever government tries to make things “fair”, it always makes things worse. The market works when it is allowed to work. Prices are real, so keeping them artificially low causes shortages. One would think people could figure this out after all these centuries.
The 70s had THE WORST clothing ever, and all man-made fabrics that were like wearing plastic bags in the summer.
The music was the best, including the Bee Gees.
.
Be prepared for gas prices to go up everywhere.

Of course if one has cases of beans, soups, food etc and didn’t have the foresight to buy a MANUAL can opener, all the planning in the world is no good.....Then again, a ‘church key’ can be a handy substitute for a can opener.
Cold bean sandwiches are good...however to many beans may lead to overuse of the ‘loo’ but then again with nearby woods etc etc etc....
“You can only store so much gasoline in a home which could get crushed in a storm before you start creating a whole other set of hazards.”
That’s a good point. Thankfully our batteries held out until power came back on; I couldn’t imagine those people that are looking at spending the next few (cold) nights without power.
“Do away with the absurd price gouging laws, and supplies will pour into the area.”
These laws are in place for a reason; people on FR b!tch about the inflation under Obama - now imagine 500% inflation in 2 days. The laws we have regarding price gouging are reasonable.
Wait a minute.... I thought NJ was a liberal paridise where love and peace rule the day...
Where is FEMA? Where is Obama? Where is a teary-eyed Shep Smith? Oh, the huge manatee
