The excuses? Off top of my head:
A lot depends on where senate ends up, and I think the GOP will have the majority with 53-54 seats. So:

First there will be denial. And anger. Charges of racism and fraud will be prevalent.

Then there will be a rush by some hard core liberals to blame Obama personally so as to excuse liberalism per se.

And there will be a counter charge from the personality cult of Obama that the media and other liberals let their guy down.

It will manifest in their insistence that all of this is still the fault of 8 years of Bush Cheney - and that we must not go back to “the failed policies of the past.” Obama Care will also be “re litigated” to use an Obama term.

Just some quickie thoughts there...

And as Mark Levin has said, we will have to “deal with all of that later” - and we will.

They had control of the Executive branch, congress, public schools & academia, media, entertainment, unions, progressives in prominent positions inside big business and internet outlets....
If Obama does lose, the radical left will still control a lot..... ( Nickname)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Getting conservative control over education will lead to eventual control over every other aspect of the culture. Sure it's a long term strategy, hard, and messy but unless we shut down the indoctrination camps we will be constantly spinning our wheels with regard to the rest of the culture.

No!....Public schools can not be reformed. It is impossible to reform socialism. Simply by attending these socialist-funded and single payer indoctrination camps child learn to be comfortable with socialism. We must SHUT THEM DOWN!

How?

Answer: Vouchers, charters, tax credits, and homeschooling will build a private infrastructure and then eventually moving to complete privatization and separation of school and state.

The wave won't be broken until we focus on the culture. Nickname, in his post #15, pointed out that collectivists in our nation control” public schools & academia, media, entertainment, unions, progressives in prominent positions inside big business and internet outlets....”

While short term political strategies are absolutely essential in the political fight against collectivism, I am often perplexed that so many conservatives fail to see that without influencing the culture in a major way we are likely to lose in the long term.

Schooling must be a major focus of long term strategy. We must shut down the government schools, find alternatives to the communist controlled universities, get as many kids out of the higher education racket as possible and work to see that every child in this nation has access to an education that upholds Judeo/Christian belief and our nation's founding principles.

“Then there will be a rush by some hard core liberals to blame Obama personally so as to excuse liberalism per se.”

Thanks. This one sticks out to me because I’ve always thought of the Clinton wing of the Democrats as being more “incrementalist” in their methods, compared to Obama who’s rammed as much through as fast as he possibly could.

If Obama receives personal blame by his party, I can see it being along those lines. Too much too fast.

While the goals remain the same, it’s easier to maintain the illusion of moderation as the Clintons have done, and avoid wholesale rejection, when Socialism is instituted in little steps.

And I really hope you’re right about the Senate!

Nicely done.

The follow on question is: When does the Liberal media bubble really break?

This election shouldn’t even be close. It is because their influence is still very large.

Excellent piece, C. Edmund!

The author has been predicting landslide for some time. Others on this forum have been also. I think they’re right.

If they are right, then this will be a significant emotional event for liberals. Perhaps an historical event, if we play our cards right.

So let’s get on to how we can KEEP THEM DOWN, once they’re done licking their wounds.

The left must rationalize their defeat. They must not allow the REASON for their defeat to reflect on liberalism itself. The CANDIDATE must be blamed. Or the CAMPAIGN. Not the policies.

We have an opportunity here to deal a lethal blow to the establishment media, and liberalism itself. The Democratic Party, if we play our cards right, shouldn’t survive what’s going to hit them smack in the face on Nov 6.

We must seize the moral high ground-it’s there for the taking. Liberalism has proven to be IMMORAL. We must say with pride that we are conservatives BECAUSE we care about the poor and the downtrodden. This is a teaching moment. We cannot allow them to blame their defeat on anything but the fact that their ideology is WRONG.

Liberalism has proven to be IMMORAL. And that’s just the fiscal policy.

It should be easy to prove that liberalism cares only about POWER. We now have a history to observe, Barack Obama’s presidency is a GIFT to conservative thought. The paradigm CAN change. We cannot let them blame it on anything but the WAY THEY THINK. Not Obama, not Reid and Pelosi, IT’S THE IDEOLOGY STUPID.

Schadenfraude is ok, but ridicule would be better. We give them no quarter, we call a spade a spade, especially at the water cooler at work. Especially at the neighborhood bar. Ostracism is good too. They need to feel our disdain for them.

They tried to turn us into CUBA.

This is the time to pull the weeds out by the roots. Romney’s not going to do it. We have to do it.

Liberalism has proven to be IMMORAL. In four short years.

Ann Coulter has given us a start. We must know our history as relates to race relations. We have a lot to be proud of, and proud we must be. The moral high ground is there for us to seize.

A battle will have been won Nov 6. The war can be won. Don’t let them blame it on anything but the fact that their policies harm the poor and expose us to danger. We must make the MORAL CASE for capitalism, and the moral case for American exceptionalism.

We’re all Paul Ryan now.

A victory by Romney will be a temporary respite from the Marxism washing over this country and its institutions. The democrat party must be declared a seditionist organization and its leadership charged with treason.

We need to dust off the Reconstruction laws and declare states like California in insurrection. Then appoint a military governor and clean out the fascists and communists.

We have another civil war brewing on the back of stove, and unless we uproot and destroy the leftist rat party, that pot will boil over one day and destroy the country.

And yes, I’m cynical.

They think socialism does work and is working. So there will be no apologies for that. It will be full steam ahead to try to come up with another tack to fool the people. They’ll be looking for another Messiah figure and fine tune their messaging.

The modus operandi of the MSM is clear to anyone who bothers to look: 1) Don't report anything that reflects negatively on Obama or the Left; and, 2) Bully/Intimidate/Shout-down anyone who disagrees with their liberal world-view.

The current state of our colleges and our Universities have only one difference from the Muslim Madrassas...the age of the students.

American ‘higher education’ is no more than indoctrination.

Rush is right—skulls full of mush that have spent their youth on X-boxes & MTV. They are clueless & they are easy targets for the ‘professors’ who get them for 4 years or so.

That system must be replaced.

Look hard at everyone you know who is under age 45 or so. They are overwhelmingly lazy—willing to pay anyone else to do any kind of work for them which they could easily do themselves. They don’t think thru a situation and are not really to be depended upon in a crisis.

Then compare them with the 50-60-70-80 year old’s you know, who were taught to do for themselves and to not expect a job-food-shelter except on their own efforts.

Welfare was intended to be a help temporarily for those who needed it. It has become a total life style and instead of being grateful, the succeeding generations have decided ‘it is owed to them’.

They are experts at riding in the wagon, but they never consider pulling the wagon.

When you realize that the amount of $$$ spent in 2011 on Welfare & associated programs would equal giving every ‘poor’ household a check for over $56,000, then it really hits home. I know many people living on less than $18,000 a year & ‘poor’ people are getting the equivilant of $56,000???

That just plain pisses me off. I have worked since I was 15 for a paycheck. I am not the only one who is pissed, either.

It all has to end. Nov 6th cannot come soon enough.

You are right about public schools. However, all is not lost. Had dinner with my 26-yr old daughter two nights ago and got into a discussion about the election. She and her friends see what has gone terribly wrong with our country since BO. Despite Sandra Fluk (sp?), the creepy “first time” commercial and the war on women, many of these kids see this election as an economic one. They instinctively know. There is still hope.

I was predicting a 55% / 45% Romney win back in August when the numbers were almost reversed.

Modern American Presidential Politics are ruled by one question:

“Do I want more of this?”

From FDR through 0bama, every single Presidential election has been a reflection on the guy who was in office the last four years.

Americans DO NOT WANT 4 MORE YEARS OF THIS CR*P!!!!

"Obama's Loss: Inevitable for Years"

This is why Christie is floating the trial balloon...the GOP nom (Romney | Perry | Palin | Christie) is the next President; Bobo doesn't want the job without a compliant Congress, he saw the Writing on the Wall in 2010; I've been saying this for 16 months now and FReepers are starting to get their mind around the inevitability.

Thanks for comments. Keep in mind, this is a thousand word column. It does not represent the totality of my thinking on what our culture needs. It focuses on one aspect, and its inevitability for over four years. There is nothing in this article or in any other that I have ever written that indicate that this will be a panacea.
