#5: I heard on the radio Monday that lots of internet sites have been slowed down, but no one knows how, who, or why.

On the 29th, one of my contacts said:

Been doing tracert to FR from command prompt.
Interesting results.
The problem is NOT FR's servers.
It's the internet backbone itself.
It's as if traffic to FR and other sites that have been
critical of Dear Leader has been... helped.
To which he added today:
DemUn was rather fast last I was able to check.
Now isn't that a remarkable coinky-dink?

Just as my site (nachumlist) was attacked the day before the first convention. Just a coincidence I'm sure.

traceroutes look fairly normal with consistent ping times

any slow down seems to be on the server and not the network

I ran a trace and found something kind of interesting. The first time I found it was by accident...and it disappeared. I couldn't get it back to save my life.
Then yesterday, bam, there it was again. This time I got it. Look.

All the hops between PSI and NTT are Afrinic nodes.

I checked for the 154 designation and lo and behold:

It's Mauritius, the huge banking center.

Since we are having a Freepathon, I was wondering if they might be up to no good. Another reason might be that we have been following Benghazi so closely, but the slowdown started before that, didn't it?

Here is the whois:

Perhaps that episode with the FBI and the internet last summery was a practice run for shutting down some sites.
