With New York City and coastal New Jersey still paralyzed after Superstorm Sandy, the Navy on Wednesday was sending three helicopter carrier ships to help rescue and recovery operations, officials told NBC News.

The USS Wasp, USS Carter Hall, and USS Mesa Verde will provide landing platforms for Coast Guard, National Guard and civilian agency helicopters if needed, the officials said, adding that the Atlantic Fleet command made the decision in the name of "prudent planning."

Sure. That will get him votes. The deaths in Benghazi didn’t matter since 0bama knew that the media would give him a free pass.

Obama will wade ashore...

The MSM seems to think he'll still be able to step off the ship and walk on the water.

Actually, this is a proper use of taxpayer assets. It would have been a scandal if they hadn’t been used.

Yes!!! I’m sure they had to wait for the storm to leave but knew they would be there along with the Coast Guard. Heavy Lift helicopters, medical and supplies. Our guys and gals are the best!!!

The problem is that the vast majority of people never heard of Benghazi and probably wouldn’t care.
This is the current state of the Amerikan people.

MSM... mission accomplished.

Carriers? You mean the kind that airplanes land on?

Since these are flooded areas, shouldn’t he be sending them boats that go “under the water”?

George W Bush sent US Navy assets to the Gulf Coast BEFORE Katrina hit. And he would have given military authorization to rescue our people in Benghazi. He knew how to make hard decisions in a timely fashion. I remember thinking that Katrina must be something major because a friend of ours was prepping to leave days before Katrina hit. His ship was right there in the aftermath.

The Kenyan Kids has done diddly squat and the media is already hailing him as a savior to New Jersey.

Romney needs to take the offense and put things in perspective. Remind voters of the $20B price tag being placed on Sandy and that fifty more hurricane Sandy’s would equal one year of an Obama fiscal disaster.

Romney also needs to remind Americans that touring a disaster area is just a days work. To quote Aristotle,” Excellence is not a singular act, but a habit.”
