And Mayor Michael Bloomberg of New York City doesnt have time for that nonsense. Hes actually too busy being the mayor of a city in major crisis to squire Obama around for his election campaign.
Today, Bloomberg rejected Obamas offer to visit the city. Wed love to have him, but weve got lots of things to do, said Bloomberg. It was fine for Obama to visit New Jersey, Bloomberg said. People understand the storm and he doesnt have to
hes got a lot of things to do.

Exactly while Christie play Traitor .
Bloomie calls him out as a pathetic desperate opportunist he is !
But Christie to the photo op rescue !
yep, but his RINO instincts kicked in
There was this snow storm last year. Our esteemed mayor got sensitivized about. If they weren’t stories, they wouldn’t have to keep them straight. LOL
I would stress that Christie is being loyal to NJ right now. There are federal aid $$$ to be handed out and we all know Obama & co. are children, so he needs to appease them.
And he’s actually suing Tombstone, AZ over a potable water pipeline damaged during flooding after a wildfire. Seems he’s mad at Arizona over something or other so the residents of Tombstone - median income approximately 20K per year for a family of 4 - get to have clean water access threatened by some shitheel disbarred lawyer from Chicago.
What a country.
No, actually Judas sold out for silver.
Anyhoo, this is Thomas doubting: I'll believe it when I see it.
I lived in Hereford in the San Pedro river basin for a number of years.
What Obama is doing is despicable and purely political spite.
Christie isn’t stupid. Jersey pays some of the highest taxes in the country and he wants some of that money back so he can rebuild Jersey.
Obama gets a worthless photo-op, Christie gets funding and keeps Obama from campaigning.
I’m going to tell everybody something about this storm and Chris Christie - a little rain ain’t gonna save Obama and nobody outside of Jersey cares what some fat ass Governor says five minutes after he says it.
It’s all to get back at Brewer for the Illegal immigrant law she passed.
Screw Az residents, they must be punished for rejecting illegals /s
For the first and only time I agree with Bloomberg about something.
Public safety resources are stretched way too thin already throughout the I-95 corridor.
Yeah, Obama can come, but security wise, “you’re on your own”.
I lived over by the old Sandy Bob stage stop between Tombstone and Bisbee. Built some straw bale houses and an adobe or two. Nice country out there.
It was the best place I ever lived in mylife.
I adored life there.
Yeah, what’s another High Crime and Misdemeanor / impeachable offense - just stack it up over there in the corner with the rest of them.
And this stupid do nothing Congress wonders why their approval rating is + .0004%
LOL.
fUNNY STUFF coming from Bloomie.
When I lived there in the mid 90s, the illegals were not out of control and OUR Gov was not out of control.
Keep Obama in New Jersey he already won the state LOL
Something I can agree with Bloomberg about. The phony and contrived bashing of W over Katrina really created this absurd expectation that the president should be at the scene of a natural disaster as soon as humanly possible. Actually, if common sense ever prevailed, the president should stay as far away as possible until the first responders and victims got things reasonably stabilized.
The last thing a disaster situation needs is all the security cpmcerms and the entourage that accompanies a president. They should make their statements from afar and communicate with local and state officials, and not visit the scene until things are well settled down.
Look at it this way, Obama has to get his “feel your pain” photo op out of the way before he can begin campaigning again. And that allows Romney to go on offense again.
Lets remember why Obama is in NJ with Christi..... Bloomberg told him to take a hike. That is a pretty strong smack down to a sitting president.
I do agree, Christi could have been cordial to the president without going overboard with his comments. But hey, he shoots first, as they say.....
And if Obama was going to tour with someone... wouldn’t you rather it be a republican governor? It just further reinforces that republicans can manage their states better. And Obama can’t be critical of Christi.
So Obama gets his photo op, which he was going to anyway. Better to have him with Christi than some other slobbering dem politician.
And again, this will not sway the election.
I agree, and I have held that same opinion for a couple of years.
Here's my reason why. According to what I have read and have been told by people who claim to know, a young man who had lived in CO for a few years decided to move back to NJ and live near his widowed mother. He owned two or three handguns that he packed in a suitcase and placed in the trunk of his car, which according to federal law makes it legal for a gun owner to transport firearms through any state or states in the Union as long as it is a continuous trip. He had read NJ law which requires that any hand gun, maybe any gun, I'm not sure, has to be registered immediately after it is brought into the state. After he got to his mom's house he stayed overnight there before going on to an apartment in the same city that his mom had rented for him. Unfortunately he didn't go directly there for some reason, and after a while and his mom became anxious because he hadn't checked in with her by phone when he got to the apartment. So she called the cops, described him and his car and asked them to find him. They found him alright, and for some unknown reason, unknown to me at least, she had told the cops about the guns in his car. He says that he fully intended to register the guns as soon as he moved into the apartment, which was admittedly not in full compliance with NJ law which apparently requires registration immediately upon arrival. In any case, he was arrested and charged with illegal possession of unregistered firearms or something like that, and a virulently anti-gun judge sentenced him to the maximum sentence of 5 years in state prison where he still remains today.
But here's where the scumbag Christie comes into the picture. He has steadfastly refused every plea from several upstanding, law abiding, NJ citizens to even consider a pardon or even parole for this previously law abiding young man who committed the outrageous, dastardly, horrible crime of, get this, failing to register his guns the same day he arrived in NJ. I realize that NJ is one of the most, if not THE most, anti-gun states in the US, and that the young man did technically violate NJ law by failing to immediately register his guns. But really, does he deserve 5 years out of his life spent in a prison hellhole and after release to become a registered felon unable to legally possess a firearm for the rest of his life?
Christie could at least get him out of that hellhole with a pardon, especially since he has already served a large portion of the 5 year sentence. But he won't even consider it, or as I have read, won't even bother to find out the true facts of the case. My conclusion in re this issue, Christie is nothing more or less than a self-serving scumbag politician who has no place in the GOP lineup EVER.
PROVISO: I think I have stated the facts of this matter correctly as best I know them to be. But since I don't have any personal knowledge regarding the matter and am depending on both what I was told by another gun owner and on my own memory of reading about the matter in a gun magazine, some of what what I recalled and wrote may not be 100% accurate. However, even if my info isn't 100% factual on one or two minor counts, IMHO Christie is still neither a conservative nor a fair minded governor. Instead, he's an anti-gun, foul mouthed, self promoting, fatass politico who is far more interested in enhancing his public image as a hard nosed law enforcer than he is in basic justice, facts, and the Constitutional rights of NJ citizens. And all in an effort to make a successful future run for the White House. Count on it, the media whores are, and only because they know he will lose big time at the national level when the voters learn more about him. I only hope the NJ voters reject him at the next election, and that all Republicans nationwide will learn a lot more about his true colors before the next primary season than the fawning media is reporting.
