Why Accept Contraception as a Women's Issue?
American Thinker ^ | October 30, 2012 | Selwyn Duke

While many points have been made about this campaign's contraception controversy, there's one that I haven't yet heard anyone mention.

Why do we accept contraception as a women's issue?

After all, there is a prophylactic designed for use by men, and insurance policies would have covered it no more than they would female birth control. Even more significantly, contraception is unnecessary unless there's the possibility of conception, something impossible without the participation of a man. In other words, contraception is always used by both sexes.

Contraception shouldn't even be an issue as contraceptives are inexpensive and pretty much available everywhere. There are some high schools and many colleges that make condoms available to students at no cost and even a months supply prescription birth control pills can be purchased at little more than the price of a latte at Starbucks. Sandra Fluke's ridiculous claim that the cost of her contraceptives amounted to thousands of dollars per year and that she needed government subsidies to afford them was ludicrous.

Assertions by the Obama campaign that electing Romney is suddenly going to end the availability of contraceptives is as idiotic as Biden's claim that Blacks will again be put in chains. Sadly there are stupid people who believe this BS and will vote for Obama because of these falsehoods.

Simple.. many men already view sex as a consequence free sport. They drop their load then move on to the next one.

Women are more complex but they want what men have with a few twist. They want the prelude paid for by their punch of the moment, the act as fun whith contraceptions paid for my their neighbor and a government that will pay the bills if they forget to use their free contraception.

On women... Ann Colter is right.... On men.. I am ashamed of their irresponsibility.

Because they’re the ones that actually conceive?

Why not read the article and consider the argument?

There is no such thing as a women’s issue.

It is only a human issue.

contraception is always used by both sexes.

Two men can use contraceptive devices as prophylactics.

Sorry then. I thought I was dealing with someone with reasoning capabilities. My mistake.

But then it’s not contraception because there’s nothing to contracept. Contraception refers to things that prevent conception.

This whole election seems driven by this stuff!

Gays, gay marriage, LGBT, contraception, cross-dressers, whatever flave-of-the-day...

All these people seem to wake up in the morning and the first thing they think about is their collective hormones!

It was bad enough when people just voted their wallet. Now, they’re voting their crotches!!

On women... Ann Colter is right.... On men.. I am ashamed of their irresponsibility.

Dr. Laura once said her father told her that men are only as bad as their women let them be. And she was outraged.

Until she thought about it.

Men act like frat boys buzzing from flower to easy flower because the flowers let them.

There is no such thing as a women’s issue.

Why is a shop vac a guy thing, and a regular vac a "woman" thing? ;)

The change that has occurred is that pregnancy is now being handled as a disease...therefore birth control becomes a medicine for treating this condition. What's hilarious is this has virtually set the fight for equality back by decades!!! Women fought so hard for pregnancy to NOT be seen as something DEBILITATING!!! I remember my mother having to hide her pregnancy with my brother from her employer in the 1960's. We had just moved to America and my parents were saving money for a down payment on a house.
