federal and city offices are closed until Wednesday and I think its an unofficial holiday up and down the Northeast.

as if getting to work is an option for tens of thousands when the metro, bus system and bridges are closed and power is off or spotty

the feds got “paid” just like all the local and state govt and school employees when the schools are closed. here the small businesses that stayed open cater to walk-in traffic

Guys in my shop. . . Network Defense/Network Monitoring/Network Ops. . . had to come in. God forbid the GS-15s and Bird Colonels and higher not be able to VPN in. . .

Of course, the cafeteria is closed: it’s brown bags and the coffee pot. . . .

Maybe they could have an “essential personell only” on a nice day and then put pink slips on all the empty desks.
