“Trail of Betrayal” is a joint project from Scripps broadcast, print and digital journalists based in Washington, D.C. Over 6 months, the Scripps National Investigative team researched and reported on a portion of the Boy Scouts of America's confidential files. The files were designed as a way to protect scouts. It was created to keep individuals out of scouting that Boy Scouts of America deemed "ineligible” to serve. Most individuals on the list were Scout leaders accused of molesting children.
The files, which span the period from 1970 to 1991, were obtained through a court-ordered release of the records and with the help of KGTV, our Scripps station in San Diego, Calif.
Team members examined 1,881 files and their collective 30,000 pages for details, building a statistical database tracking incidents, accusations, arrests, convictions and the number of alleged Scout victims and perpetrators. Recently, many variations of the confidential files have been released and media outlets are beginning to review them.
The Scripps National Investigative Team reviewed each page to showcase the pure magnitude of victims, offenders and failures within the Scouts system that reach from coast to coast.
Using the files, court documents, newspaper articles and internet-based research tools, Scripps journalists traveled coast to coast to find Scout victims, former Scout officials and convicted pedophiles.
The resulting 3-day series reveals how the iconic youth organization betrayed the American public's trust after being trusted with the nation's youth. The series will air in all 13 of our Scripps broadcast markets and newspapers with a reach from coast to coast. The series will be showcased on all 26 of our websites to provide online users a fully immersive interactive experience to explore our findings.

BSA is in a "perfect storm" right now. It is under assault from ...
1. The court ordered release of these ineligible (perversion) files may well lead to more lawsuits against BSA. This is 1 strategy the anti-BSA crowd is using to financially break the BSA.
2. MSM is supporting BHO's agenda of crushing all things opposed to homosexual special rights. Should BHO be re-elected, look for him to resign his title of "Honorary President" of the BSA by FEB 2013.
3. In the past decade, the U.S. military has been forced by the ACLU to break its strong informal tie with the BSA because of BSA's religious declaration policy (under the guise of "separation of church and state"). Military bases can no longer charter BSA units on their property. The Army forced BSA off its Ft. A.P. Hill (VA) reservation after BSA's 2010 national jamboree. The Army started hosting the jambo there in 1980. It was held every 4 years.
4. Randall Stephenson, CEO of AT&T (and currently a member of the BSA's National (volunteer) Executive Board), pledged in 2012 to work inside BSA to change its membership policy to include homosexuals and atheists. Stephenson is expected to be selected as the BSA national president (volunteer) in 2014.
5. Pressure is increasing for more United Way chapters (~1,200 across the land) to deny funding BSA local councils (~200 across the land) because of BSA's discriminatory membership policy. Currently, it is estimated that 70+ local UW chapters have done so.
6. As corporate America embraces diversity, more and more company human resources departments are re-writing their corporate charitable donation policies to exclude giving to non-profit groups which practice discrimination. Intel Corp. is the latest company to publically announce this policy change.
7. The 2nd largest Christian denomination which charters BSA units (packs, troops, crews) is the UMC. It is currently reviewing its relationship with the BSA. There is much concern that the charter organziations, i.e., primarily churches, are worried that they too may face lawsuits stemming from pedophile incidents within their sponsored units. There is also the concern that they would have to acquire additional insurance to guard against potential lawsuits.
This is the very reason that the Boy Scouts did not want homsexual scoutmasters. They can’t keep their hands off the boys.

The State wants stupid people who can’t think and use logic and are dependent. BSA makes real, strong, moral men-—the kind that don’t surrender to the Marxists. Remember-—it was Christianity that got rid of calling “good” such evil acts like pederasty, homosexuality, slavery. It still exists as “good” in some cultures. That is why Christianity is under attack—and any organization which supports it. The Leftists want to normalize evil, dehumanizing homosexuality and it can’t happen unless Christian Ethics is destroyed.
BSA has to stand strong and prove how hard it is to keep homosexuals away from the boys.....that is all this is.....how immature and immoral homosexuals are—and WHY they need to keep them away from the boys.

Everyone should look into the Boy Scouts of Germany-—founded by a homosexual-—Homosexuality was the National Vice of Germany—It is a learned behavior-—taught to the boys. They want the boys to train and use-—and Hitler, a sodomite, put pederasts in charge of the Hitler Youth. The assault on the BSA mirrors every assault that is now taking place. The U.S. Military has been the happy recipient of all the Eagle Scouts who after having been given leadership training made terrific transitions into the military as leaders.
Anyone who wants the perverts taking over the BSA should be held in suspicion of them self being a pervert.
I read the summary report of an actual FBI consultant who concluded that although not perfect, the Ineligible Leaders list of BSA is a very good program and works as intended. One guy in MD on the list had virtually nothing to do with Boy Scouts. He was on the list in case he ever tried to become a leader. And the report also showed how low the ratio of predators on the list is to leaders. A very small number preceded by a bunch of zero’s
I give to the BSA==I do not condemn them-—just the infiltrators-—and BSA knows there will always be those types who are trying to bring them down. I understand the Culture War—been studying it for years. BSA has been Delphied and targeted for extinction because they stand for God-—just like the Catholic Church is targeted and infiltrated.
