When I think back on the Left-wing hysteria that fed upon itself to give us Watergate, it makes me so angry that they scoff at a sitting President not lifting a finger to do the job he is actually supposed to to do.
Yeah, I was about 15-16 at that time. It irks me to no end - even to this day - to remember how I bought into this line of hysteria (at the time I did not realize that our 'News Media' had a long history of acting as propagandists for Socialists and Democrats). I was convinced that President Nixon was the crookedest guy who came down the pike, and that John Dean was a paragon of virtue... What a sucker I was...
President Nixon might not win any awards for ethics, but what he did was 'nothing' compared with the crimes carried out with impunity by previous and subsequent Democrat Presidents. Two wrongs don't make a right, but President Nixon's actions, at most, justified a sternly written admonishment to be more forthcoming in the future.
And, crooked as he may have been, he still loved his country enough not to put it through a show-trial and a dragged out impeachment process (and remember that he loved his country enough, not to contest a pretty shady election win by JFK in 1960 ... unlike his Democrat counterpart some 40 years later).
I swallowed that Watergate spiel hook, line, and sinker. It was nothing but a Media engineered coup. And now, when there are real scandals, and real crimes resulting in deaths (Fast and Furious -- aka, 'Let's cancel the 2nd Amendment'; and Benghazi -- where we left 4 Americans to die -- for whatever reason: cowardice, or as the result of nefarious schemes) -- our wonderful Media is AWOL. A pox on the lot of them.
