It looked like a spinning ping pong ball getting sucked up by a vacuum cleaner. Come to think of it, that’s pretty much what happened.
Great analogy.
Great analogy.
Well, how 'bout that? Son of a gun....
Looking at the radar, it appears that the worst of it is still south of us and due to pass over.
As I’ve been typing, it has started raining and the winds have picked some.
We are not in any danger of flooding but power outages are not out of the question by any means.
Thanks. Guess, Im prepared for any power outages in the future as I stocked up on batteries, flashlights, lanterns, propane etc.
Stay safe, What area are you in?
Syracuse area, CNY
Praise be to our Glorious Lord!
Thank God!! I was worried about you. Kept checking the Intellicast radar last night... looked like Maryland was getting pounded. Glad to hear all is well with you and hubby. :-)
Called our home phone this AM... answering machine picks up, so I guess our power is restored in CT. We will contact neighbors ASAP to see if they can assess damage to our property.
Bet your temps dropped quite a bit.
Joe never did know why Li An-Fo calls him 'Jeoosus' either
Well, that was crude.
Thanks so much, FRiend! Happy to be here. :-)
I wish we were on your side of Florida, though. Looks like we are about 180+ miles from you. So close, yet so far away. Oh well... as you know, there will be future trips for us to the Gulf coast...

FR is so slow and 'buggy' again today... frustrating.
As a pilot, I much appreciate when my weather briefings are from passionate meteorologists! ;)
In hindsight, I could have been more sensitive in a sensitive thread.
Thanks, and thank you for your service!
Peace to you too...
Latest model track shows the eye going further west, over Buffalo and Toronto.
It’s about 50 right now. I was just talking to my son and we were discussing that we are warmer than many areas to the south and west.
However, that cold front from out west has not yet passed over us.
We’re still getting the warmer tropical air from the system pumped into out area.
I’ll take it cause once the front passes, we’re done.
This only effects a few people but I’ll put it out anyway. During storm cleanup, you may want to hold off on cutting some trees if you don’t need to. I’m talking about large old fallen healthy trees. Some are valuable. After Hurricane Hugo we were told that some trees were worth thousands. They were used for gun stocks, furniture, and other things. Most valuable is black walnut, but some other types can be also. The only way some of this old wood can now be harvested is from a windfall. They should be OK down for a couple of months if people can leave them. I have no idea who to contact to buy them. Was told that when contacted some were told that they cut up several thousand dollars of rare wood just to get it out of there. News reported that one fallen tree was sold for 10,000. This was in 1988.
Thanks for that info for those who do not know it.
We have several black walnuts trees on and around our property. They’re pretty common here in CNY.
Every year I’m pulling sprouting walnuts out of my lawn and vegetable garden.
