But I do take offense, as Ive said during one of the debates, with some suggestion that, you know, in any way we havent tried to make sure that the American people knew, as information was coming in, what we believed happened Of course he takes offense. He doesn't deny it, though.
A classic non-denial denial.

...what we believed happened.
So, not what you know happened or what evidence suggests happened, but what you believe happened. Nice parsing, Dear Reader.

But I do take offense, as Ive said during one of the debates, with some suggestion that, you know, in any way we havent tried to make sure that the American people knew, as information was coming in, what we believed happened, the president added. The key phrase is the last part... "to make sure that the American people knew... what WE BELIEVE happened"
He's offended that he's being accused of not getting their spin out. Clearly, they have been spinning like a gyroscope. It SHOULD offend him if their spin isn't sticking, considering how much effort they're putting into it.
However, their spin has nothing to do with the facts as they happened. Someone with experience parsing EVERY word has to ask this idiot some real follow-up questions. It's the only way that there's any chance he might, someday, give a substantive answer to an important question.
