In a surprise, the Des Moines Register, Iowas largest and most influential newspaper, has endorsed Mitt Romney for president. The paper endorsed Obama in 2008:
While the editorial praised both Romney and Obama, the decision ultimately came down to one question, the newspaper stated. Which candidate could forge the compromises in Congress to achieve these goals? When the question is framed in those terms, Mitt Romney emerges the stronger candidate.
According to the announcement, the editorial board, which enthusiastically endorsed Romney ahead of the states Republican presidential caucuses in January, had a vigorous debate over which candidate to choose for the November election.
While Romney has made rebuilding the economy his No. 1 campaign priority, the paper stated, the presidents best efforts to resuscitate the stumbling economy have fallen short. Nothing indicates it would change with a second term in the White House.
The editorial board said the country needed a renewed sense of confidence in the economy. That should come with Mitt Romney in the White House.
Obamas deputy campaign manager, Stephanie Cutter, complained that the papers endorsement didnt seem to be based at all in reality.
I guess it depends on what your definition of reality is:

Stephanie Cutter would not know reality if it came up and slapped her in the face.
Just watch on voting day.
She was trying real hard to convince herself.
She stated, it wasn’t a surprise, that The Register had endorsed Romney during the primaries. LOL
Ms Cutters job is to make a failed President look good. Thus her job is about undoing reality..........
So now Team Obama wants to throw the left-wing media under the bus? Good luck with that!!
Oh dear, is that panic I smell? He’s coming to get you, Stephie...
I saw Cutter on FNC for the first time this morning. She’s a bigger ditz than Barry’s other redhead, Jen (?) Saki who I saw for the first time the other day. I don’t think trotting out these two to defend him was a very good idea. They both are clueless.
She’s right. Forgjng compromises won’t help the country; putting pro-America people in charge, and letting a free market take over is required. Democrats won’t compromise on anything that is needed. Republicans just need to win, bring up votes, and move ahead with what is needed. If compromise is what the paper wants, the paper is deluded as to the current gulf between the parties. Between the tsar and Lenin, there is no compromise. Between freedom and Marxism, no room to agree. Just defeat it!
If the Des Moines Register has endorsed Romney, it makes it socially acceptable for all liberals to vote for him.
Just keep hitting the bong Stephanie, reality will eventually come to you.
She used the word ‘reality’ ALMOST as if she knew what it meant. Now THAT’S sincerety.
Hmmmmmm, with the Iowa newspaper endorsement of Mitt it sure has the dimoKKKRATS in a frenzy. Hopefully the endorsements will cause some of the voters to vote for Mitt. The RATS seem to think so the way they are acting.
Cutter and Obama live in a separate reality...a Kool-Aid reality.
She’s an empty-headed prostitute for the Zero Administration. Pay no mind.
She looks like she’s getting crazier every day. Her physical looks are changing.
As for the endorsement, if obama wins every state that has newspapers that endorsed Romney will be punished.
cutter is as much as an idiot as debi whatshername shultz.
shows the utter incompetence of this failed administration, and “administration” is used rather sarcastically. doesn’t fit Webster’s definition.
they tell one lie after another and keep it up. they live in an alternate universe.
Orwellian to say the least. up is down, less is more, and ignorance and stupidity is intelligence.
blessings, bobo
Did Bush’s campaign manager make these kinds of nasty comments when newspapers endorsed Kerry?
I swear that Cutter is sounding more and more like Baghdad Bob.
The whole D party, from top to bottom, is made up of lunatics and idiots. They perfectly reflect the people who elect them.
On Nov 7, Stephanie will be saying that, Romney’s victory in the general election was, “not based on realty”, since, she can’t think of a person around her who voted for Obama.
Stephanie’s reality is of the “alternate” kind, and found only in fantasy books and in Disney children’s movies.
