That front page photo of a scowling Obama opposite a photo of a grinning Romney plus the captions that include 'criticism' under Obama's photo and 'optimism' under Romney's say it all with both pictures and words. The contrast is stark and whether or not it was intended, the front page of the Des Moines Register is akin to an endorsement of Romney. I love it!

I’m almost proud of my old hometown newspaper. When I was a kid in the late 1940’s I had one of their newspaper routes; one summer in my teens I had my own lawn care business and ‘Sec’ Taylor, then the Sports Editor for the Register, was one of my regular clients; and later, while in college I worked on the ‘complaint desk’ in the circulation department. In those days the Register was generally considered to be a balanced rag with leanings to the right, but that was all before Gannett.

Romney looks like a winner — actually like he’s already won. The pure evil in Hussein shows on his face. Great comparison photos.
