ANd what "entire operation that someone did not want blown" be in your mind??
I think that those ex SEALS knew that there was a possibility they would be on their own and that their moral obligation to their fellow Americans was greater than the orders to stand down. They were highly paid contractors for some unnamed agency. I would be interested to read their contracts.
I have no idea what the operation was though from the beginning, the retrieval of the MANPADs has been mentioned. I would like to know what US policy is in that region at the moment. Who have we aided? Why did we interfere in Libya at all? I could go on and on.
I think the ex SEALs and their fellow order disobeyers acted heroically in their efforts to save those at the consulate and in their defense of the safe house. This was a fubar of great magnitude. There are many unanswered questions about the lack of security for the ambassador and the others working at that complex. Was the safe house location already exposed to the terrorists? Or did it become exposed when the evacuees from the consulate were driven at 20mph through the streets of Benghazi at 11pm?
It is astounding that there were folks in charge who watched this go down and that they did not think through the consequences of leaving these folks to defend themselves. We need new leadership. That is clear as a bell.
