Describe any drop in Obama enthusiasm in your area.

In Northern suburbs of Chicago:

2008: Obama intensity overflowing in every direction.

2012: Have NEVER heard enthusiasm expressed for Obama. What I have heard is low-key excuses for Obama or low-key sniping at Romney.

Defiance Ohio (a GM/Union town) - My buddy there was telling me that the few Obama yard signs around town thinned out a little more after each debate.

He lives near tonight's rally site. Noticed 2 houses in his neighborhood suddenly sprung a bunch of Obama signs. That probably means the rats had many extra signs left over. Said he had a rough time just getting his 1 Romney sign.

I am in Columbia, MO. It was wall-to-wall Obama in 2008. Literally 100’s and 100’s of signs, the works. Huge enthusiasm. Bumper stickers everywhere. The entire town looked like an Obama campaign rally.

2012: Jack squat. I have maybe seen 10-20 Obama signs in the whole town..seriously. I am sure he will still get plenty of votes here anyway, but the enthusiasm is way, way down. He isn’t winning Missouri anyway, but I think it’s pertinent that the effort just isn’t there.

Where I live Democrats hold a 3:1 registration advantage, yet you have to search long and hard to find an Obama bumper sticker or yard sign. You don’t hear the typical din of union types crowing in your face about how the Dem is “better for the workin’ man”. And Obama has had to open a storefront campaign office in a streetcar suburb that has probably not voted Republican since Warren G. Harding.

I’m in Birmingham, I’ve only seen a couple of Obama bumper stickers and I haven’t seen a single Obama yard sign. None of my Black co-workers are talking openly about the election. Last time there were signs everywhere and dancing and yelling his name at work. This time, nothing at all.

Eastern Washington State (Tri-cities) Seen mostly Romney signs so far. But, today I saw my first Obama sign. And it had a great big red “X” through it.

Note, this area is very conservative, unlike most the rest of WA.

Omaha, NE: Black, gay professional in the next office had 2 0bama bumper stickers, one each for 2008 and 2012 on his Lexus SUV. I noticed a couple weeks ago that they had been removed (he works in financial services).

Hartford, CT area: Was there last week. Probably about 50/50 on yard signs for the Pres/VP race. Saw LOTS of signs for Linda McMahon.

N.Pa is all small towns. My four mile trip to town I saw about two dozen Romney signs, one Obama sign and one Gary Johnson sign.
My one sister and her husband who told me they were voting for McCain last time recently let it slip they voted for 0bama ( BIL is a Democrat and uses the “n” word?) is going to vote for 0bama again.
Apparently “freebies” have the power overrule BIL racial hatred?

I forgot to mention, Condaleeza Rice is from Birmingham and she is very well respected here by both Blacks and Whites. People here listen to her and they see that she is campaigning for Romney. That may be playing a role in what I am seeing here.

I’m in southern California, and saw about a 9 to 1 ratio of Obama to McCain signs in 2008. This year it’s about 2 to 1 Romney to Obama. Not that California is in play, but the enthusiasm is way, way down for Obama. Even the folks around here who are voting for him are largely keeping quiet about it.

Private union member here. I’ve noticed we are not getting bombarded with pro Obama propaganda from our leaders as in 2008. They our focusing on the local elections, but we are getting anti-Romney propaganda.

Lifelong democrat voting neighbor in 60’s who of course voted O in ‘08 told me she woke up suddenly from a dream instructing her to vote Romney!

I married into a family of life-long NJ demorats who never met a Republican they liked, not even Reagan.

They ‘hated’ Bush and in 2008 fully embraced Obama and his hope and change BS.

Now, four years later, they’re singing a different tune.

My wife and I share common political views but whenever we are with her family we never talk politics just to keep the peace. In the past few months, however, every member of her family has gone out of his/her way to say what a disaster Obama has been and how they would never vote for him again.

Who knows, maybe even Jersey is in play.

I've been walking the dog around the neighborhood lately and have seen five Romney signs, and one Obama/Union sign.

Last year around this time a good number of houses in my area of the Chicago suburbs were blanketed in Obama signs. This year in my area I have only counted three in my county, McHenry County.

The silence on Facebook among my liberal friends is deafening.

It started right around the first debate.

Prior to that they wouldn't shut up.

In northern Delaware.

Plenty of Obama, 2012 with the O logo, and Obama/Biden bumper stickers.

Yard signs for Obama was much harder to spot, while it was overflowing in 2008.

Same area, around Mountain View I have seen more Romney signs than Obama signs (and the signs are staying up, which means no one is motivated to vandalize them). Definite lack of enthusiasm for Obama, and this is the SF Bay area.

I travel the State of Maine...I can honestly say Romney signs out-number obama signs 2-1. Is Maine in play? Never know.
