(Reuters) - President Barack Obama suspended the levity during an interview with late-night TV talk show host Jay Leno on Wednesday to address a Republican Senate candidate's assertion that pregnancies resulting from rape are intended by God and to express confidence that Washington could soon address the looming "fiscal cliff."
"I don't know how these guys come up with these ideas. Let me make a very simple proposition: rape is rape. It is a crime," Obama said on NBC's "The Tonight Show."
"This is exactly why you don't want a bunch of politicians, mostly male, making decisions about women's healthcare."
Indiana Republican Senate candidate Richard Mourdock's comments that pregnancies caused by rape are "something God intended to happen" echoed across the U.S. media and sent ripples through political circles ahead of the November 6 election.

Obama is far out of touch with the vast majority of Americans who are Pro Life and understand that both Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock are absolutely correct in their view of Life.
I may be a bit slow. How did he make the jump from rape to health care? Maybe the video gives a different impression than the written transcript.

The theology behind what Murdoch stated is as Old as the Judeo/Christian tradition. God is our creator an hence any life is the result of God's grace.
The circumstance in which a child is conceived is irrelevant to the value that the life is given upon conception. God is the creator and every life is a gift from God.

For God sake’s Jay your a car guy widely respected and known for being somewhat of a car expert. Jay you know the Volt is a pile of steaming crap just like Obama’s failed policys.

Obama would never admit that a child of rape could have a right to exist -- they must be aborted because they are, by definition, unwanted. He said if one of his girls were to become pregnant through a "mistake" he wouldn't want them "punished with a baby".

God’s sovereign, revealed, and permissive will is the issue here.
God’s revealed will is that the rapist should not have sinned by raping.
God’s permissive will is that He nonetheless permitted that event to take place.
Eternally, all of this will fit into God’s sovereign will as God brings to pass His plan for creation.
So, the rapist sinned, and the fact that he will be punished suggests God did not approve of the rapist’s actions. That God allowed it is taken by many to be the price of “free will”.
Nor do we have any idea how it will fit into the sovereign future. The child could have some crucial role to play for all we know, and that could be generations from now through a great-great-grandchild.
