Police fired 26 shots at Waukesha Man on Tuesday

WAUKESHA -- Law enforcement authorities fired 26 rounds at a man allegedly involved in a domestic dispute in Waukesha on Tuesday, according to Waukesha Police Chief Russell Jack. None of the shots hit the man, Dick Petarius, 76.

Chief Jack says police were responding to a domestic dispute in the 1800 block of Racine Avenue Tuesday evening. Petarius' ex-wife, Phyllis reportedly had a broken arm after her ex-husband, Dick, pushed her, according to police.

Court documents show Phyllis filed a restraining order against Dick in 2010, the same year she filed for divorce. Less than two weeks after she field the restraining order, he was arrested for domestic abuse.

Neighbors who knew the couple for several years say they often heard the couple arguing, but never knew anything about physical abuse. Chief Russell told the media, Dick told his daughter that he married his wife for 53 years and "to death do us part."

Dick Petarius could appear in court for the incident on Thursday

This "fire fight" was meant to meet the empty casings report due that week. They were just shy of getting additional funding to the district for whatever crime rate it had. Sometimes a few more empty casings will grease the money machine.

lol

Hmmm. No mention of the sex of the “officers”. How much trauma is involved in getting shot at and missed? When it has happened to me I found it rather... exhilirating!

This is the ultimate example of “spray and pray”

Cops who shoot this poorly have no business carrying a badge and a gun. They are a department liability, not an asset.

Maybe they were “warning” shots?

Police fire 26 shots at man, none hit

That sounds about right.

I still remember the story of the two officers with a perp in the back of the car, who somehow had a weapon, and all are firing at each other, something like 70-plus rounds fired inside the car, nobody hit. I just wonder how freaking deaf they all were after that.

Did they hit any pets?

Beyond farce!
