WAUKESHA -- Law enforcement authorities fired 26 rounds at a man allegedly involved in a domestic dispute in Waukesha on Tuesday, according to Waukesha Police Chief Russell Jack. None of the shots hit the man, Dick Petarius, 76.
Chief Jack says police were responding to a domestic dispute in the 1800 block of Racine Avenue Tuesday evening. Petarius' ex-wife, Phyllis reportedly had a broken arm after her ex-husband, Dick, pushed her, according to police.
Court documents show Phyllis filed a restraining order against Dick in 2010, the same year she filed for divorce. Less than two weeks after she field the restraining order, he was arrested for domestic abuse.
Neighbors who knew the couple for several years say they often heard the couple arguing, but never knew anything about physical abuse. Chief Russell told the media, Dick told his daughter that he married his wife for 53 years and "to death do us part."
Dick Petarius could appear in court for the incident on Thursday
Russell Jack? Seriously, dog?
Gotta love that editing. Chief Jack in one place, Chief Russell in another.
That’s one lucky Dick Petarius!
The citizens's guns are a much larger danger than those of the cops.
Jail time, range time, job search time... all of the above?

Depending on how close she was standing to him, that's one lucky former Mrs. Petarius.
I think its time the cops hit the gun range.
Neighborhood dogs and cats too.
And remedial Simunition training.
He will live to tell his side of the story. Sure hope he doesn’t “hang himself” in jail/s;)
Nothing in the story but I kinda wonder why they were shooting at him. I mean a 76 yr old guy probably isn’t gonna jump a bunch of cops.
Is this a joke??? I’d fire them all and start over. I would do my initial interview at the range. Let me see you shoot and then we will talk.

“Both officers are doing physically fine,” said Waukesha Police Chief Russell Jack on Wednesday.
“One officer suffered a minor grazing head wound, possibly caused by the debris from the round fired from the suspect. Both officers are currently recovering emotionally from this very traumatic incident.”

A Waukesha police officer was grazed in the head possibly by bullet debris when a 76-year-old man shot at police during a domestic dispute, Police Chief Russell Jack said Wednesday.
Two officers returned fire, shooting 26 handgun rounds in and outside the home while securing the mans former wife and leaving the residence with her, according to Jack.
The two officers are on administrative leave. They are doing fine physically after the suspect fired two rounds of turkey shot from a shotgun at police Tuesday afternoon, Jack said.
Both officers are currently recovering emotionally from this very traumatic incident, Jack said.
perhaps they are recovering from embarrassment while cleaning out their undies.
Ready. Fire. Aim!
Maybe he wouldn't stand still.
