WH: ‘We Decline to Comment’ on When Obama Learned of E-Mails, Met With NSC on Benghazi By Fred Lucas October 24, 2012
(CNSNews.com) - The White House is declining to say when President Barack Obama first learned of three e-mails that the State Department sent to the White House on Sept. 11, 2012, directly notifying the Executive Office of the President that the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi was under attack, that U.S. Amb. Chris Stevens was at the Benghazi mission at the time of the attack, and that the group Ansar al-Sharia had taken credit for the attack.
The White House also declined to say when the president first met with the National Security Council after the Benghazi attack.
“I have been asked by one of our spokespeople to relay ‘that we decline to comment,’” said White House National Security Staff aide Debbie Bird in a written response to CNSNews.com.
CNSNews.com had asked Bird: 1) “When did the President first meet with the National Security Council after the Benghazi attack on 9/11/12?” 2) “When did White House staff first discuss the substance of the e-mails that went to the White House with the President or with the National Security Advisor?”
Carney also took a question about the e-mails today during a press gaggle held aboard Air Force One at 9:34 a.m. A reporter asked: “Jay, there are some emails that have emerged, which suggest that the White House and other areas of the government were told within hours of the Benghazi attack that an extremist group had claimed responsibility. How is that compatible with the idea that it was a spontaneous attack?”
Carney downplayed the significance of the State Department emails.

Ed Klein on Beck this morning said he has sources that say Hillary has documentary proof that she approved the additional security being asked for and it never happened. He seems to feel that she has her butt covered. Beck questioned his sources - Klein said he has two and they are legal advisors to Clinton ... he would be very surprised if they are lying although he doesn’t totally rule it out. Hillary is not going down for/with Obama.

Brett Baier: The attack on the consulate in Libya triggered a wide array of moves by the Pentagon, but help never arrived....Jennifer Griffin looks at that part of the story”:
Griffen: Shortly after the attack began an unarmed US predator drone was positioned over Benghazi.
6 hrs 20min after the attack started, former Seals Woods and Doherty were killed at the CIA annex, a mile from the consulate, by a mortar shell at 4am local time.
The President met his Def Sec and VP in the Oval Office within an hour of the attacks onset.
The Pentagon began moving military assets.
1) 8 special operators were sent from Tripoli
2) A fast team from Rota, Spain were sent to guard the embassy but remained in the capitol
3) A special operations force was moved from central Europe to Sigonella Air Base in southern Italy, just 480 miles from Benghazi
4) F16s and Apache helicopters remained parked and un-used at Aviano Air Base in northern Italy
5) Two Navy destroyers, already in the Mediterranean, were moved off the coast of Libya on the day of the attack, but were never used
Bing West: “For the US military to say that they were 480 miles away and they couldn’t do anything anf they couldn’t move one aircraft in 8 hrs, I’d say it’s time to relieve a lot of people in the chain of command, but I just don’t believe that.”
Griffin cites “US officials” who defended non-action, saying they worried about friendly fire, an ambush, etc, etc, etc.
The fighting at the consulate was over in one hour, according to the recently leaked State Dept emails...
Officials in Washington reading those cables may have thought the attack was over. Now they know it was a 2-pronged attack at 2 separate locations that lasted more than 6 hrs.

They are starting to realize that in impeachment hearings...all these things they have said are going to be scrutinized by lawyers....not a fawning media!! They are already sunk by their own lies folks!

It's a matter of National Security? No, the timing of a discussion does not affect that...
It's none of our business? Clearly not, and we're going to keep asking...
It's privileged information? Nope, can't be that...
It's admitting a crime? No, the crime is the cover-up, not the timing of the actual discussion.
There is no rational basis for the White House to decline to comment on this question. Let's hope the MSM keeps hammering the question.

It is a little late for them to have no comment. There are already reports that the WH put out sayng that Obama met with his National Security Advisors as soon as the embassy came under attack! Now they are parsing words and timelines and refusing to comment on exact times?
They have legal counsel now for future prosecutions....it’s obvious.
