Some serious fur flew on the Morning Joe set today, as Joe Scarborough clashed with David Remnick, editor of The New Yorker. Setting Scarborough off was the magazine's endorsement of Barack Obama that lauded the president for relieving the "national shame inflicted by the Bush administration."
Scarborough saracastically asked Remnick "who got paid the bonus for being able to squeeze in, quote, 'the shame of the Bush years?'" Scarborough went on to scald Remnick for the left's hypocrisy in giving President Obama a pass for pursuing many of the same policies that it had accused Bush-Cheney of undermining the Constitution for establishing. Remnick feigned ignorance of what Scarborough meant by "the left," and accused Joe of having "within two seconds, leapt down my throat" about the endorsement.

Scarborough often revels in ripping Republicans. But he seems to be getting more supportive in recent times. Here, he rips the editor of The New Yorker for its hypocritical, Bush-bashing endorsement of Obama.
I watch Morning Joe a bit (when i can stomach the panel) as it is the least offensive offering from NBC. Joe moved left and has curried favor with the leftists for six years. He’s become the David Brooks-type house conservative over there. If you watch, you’ll see that Joe is dedicated to only his own image.
I think he senses the sea change of ‘throw the left out’ in the electorate is is tacking right. Pity. He’s going to start missing out on some oh those Upper West Side cocktail parties. But I cant forgive him for the last years.
I think joe probably likes Romney quite a bit more than any of our recent standard bearers. Joe was a pretty good conservative before he was coopted. He really didn’t like Bush for spending and wars. He probably likes Romney’s competence and positions on getting government spending under control.
You’re correct. Joe’s trying to jump back over to the winning side - a few years too late.
He only acts that way because it makes Mika Hot!
Nothing could make Mika ‘’HOT”
Hypocrisy thy name is David Remnick. How obnoxious can a man be? He should have asked him about the New Yorker cover with Obama as a Muslim terrorist — hasn’t it provide ironically true — even though they were parodying opponents to Obama?
Bi-polar Joe doesn’t like Romney (well, maybe in the last week...) He’s excoriated him endlessly while singing the praises of his candidate of choice: Jon Huntsman!
But as Romney comes closer to winning the glittering prize, we’ll probably see Joe start to slobber over him.
My impression is that he is starting to board the Romney train since he now sees it as the winner on Nov 6, and hopes the new WH will speak with him as the present one speaks with Mika.
My first thought too. Guess Joe believes Mitt is going to win and he doesn’t want to be left with the ‘out crowd’ in the outhouse. Too late, Joe, we’ve got your number and it’s “0”.
The New Yorker was a lost cause when I was a teenager. I’m 58.
