Charlie Rose and Norah O’Donnell seem a little surprised by the results of this focus group conducted by CBS during last night’s debate, a group that consists of eight undecided voters in Ohio — a critical swing state for both Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. Conventional wisdom and spot polls showed Obama winning a narrow victory over Romney in last night’s debate, but that’s not how CBS’ independents saw it:

Seriously, Romney’s campaign strategy has played out beautifully. He managed to side-step 0bama’s propaganda organs in the media. He seized the momentum by steamrolling an unprepared 0bama in the first debate. And now, he’s not going to lose. His campaign is on a roll and on the offensive everywhere, going into states like Pennsylvania. I think it’s already over in Ohio and therefore the election is over. Both candidates know it.

The media looked at the scoreboard this morning, and now they know it too.

Steubenville, OH: Home of Dean Martin and Wild Cherry (Play that Funky Music). I used to live right across the river in Follansbee, WV (birth place of Lou Holtz). A lot of people are unhappy in that area because of the coal and steel industry taking a hit with Obama’s policies.
