Ryan's entrance was very dramatic. First, the SS people came in to check out the crowd (some of them were very stern, looking as if they were about to pounce at any sudden move from the crowd).
We were facing the rear doors of the hangar when they slowly started to open, revealing the campaign plane:
I didn't have the zoom enabled, so that plane was closer to me than you might imagine.
So, anyway, he finally ran down the steps of the plane and took the stage. They had placed notes before him, but he barely glanced at them while giving his speech. And there was definitely no teleprompter!
