Turkish schoolbooks denounce Darwin, Einstein as 'Jews'

Turkish schoolchildren in Istanbul received a series of books denouncing scientific figures, including one denying the theory of evolution and describing Charles Darwin as a big-nosed Jew, the Financial Times reported Friday.

According to the paper, the books were distributed last week to hundreds of students in the Maltepe district of Turkey's capital after the government-affiliated local education authority approved their content.

The book on Darwin reportedly states that the evolutionary biologist “Had two problems: First he was a Jew; second, he hated his prominent forehead, big nose and misshapen teeth.”

Darwin was not Jewish.

A separate book on Albert Einstein reportedly describes the physicist as “filthy and slovenly” and accuses him of eating soap. “The sad part is during that time the Gestapo was putting Jews into ovens and making them into soap,” the book adds.

American citizen Fetullah Gülen "stated aim is to create a 'golden generation' of educated Muslims, an aim shared by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan." Apparently the government schools are not directly controlled by American citizen Gülen he does share Islamist ideology with the leader (Erdoğan) of the ruling AK Party that is moving secular Turkey to an Islamic "republic" like Iran.

I wish the Jerusalem Post would figure it out. Are they talking about Maltepe, Istanbul...or Maltepe, Ankara?

There is a big difference between the two areas. Both geographically...and also in the “culture” of the two areas.

(I spent about 3 months in Fenerbahce, which is about a couple of miles away from Maltepe, Istanbul...and lived for about 2 years in Bahcelievler...the next neighborhood to Maltepe, Ankara)

Maltepe, Ankara, is known as an old, “conservative” (a/k/a Islamist) neighborhood. Distributing those books to kids there would not be surprising at all. Maltepe, Istanbul, on the other hand...that kind of move there would be very provocative.

This kind of makes them like Pakistan. The ones with money get the decent secular education and the ones without end up in the crazy madrassahs.

Of course.

Turkey’s nazists are having a high old time, and need a good sprinkling of ebola.

Watch the “educated” muslims go on about demons and jinns before you say “golden”.

Of course, there are evangelicals who think Mormons are demons, placing them at about the same point on the “golden” scale.

Yes, but I think Gülen and Erdoğan intend to make Islamism (political Islam and sharia law) the basis of all education. I think Gülen (who lives in Pennsylvania with his followers) owns at least half of the media in Turkey.

It appears that people are being jailed entirely at the whim of the government which has steadily been infiltrated by Islamists for a generation. Our friend Turkey is toast.

They are Sunni and Iran is Shi'a -- trouble abrewin' there too. Only one can be the Number One in the Middle East.

Of course they are. There is no doubt that this is an Islamist endeavor. But, there is a real schism between the rich and poor there. A violent one. They hate each other as much as they hate us.

That's a good point.. there are muslims who go on about demons and there are evangelicals who think Mormons are demons.

I see the difference between Muslim and Islamist.

I worked with Turks for a few years including almost a year living in Ankara. I have a great deal of respect for the Turkish people. I was there before the AK Party took over.

I agree.. but isn't it a lot about the educated Kemalists vs. the Islamists; a third group I believe includes European secularists.

It's been several years since I lived there and I see the Internet sources are saying such things as Kemalist secularism is dead and "Turkey is slowly, peacefully and inexorably restoring Sharia."

I am not sure that it makes a difference what they call it. Sharia, Shia, Sunni, whatever. They are all about violent tribalism and this religion someone enables their most violent nature to exercise itself. Regularly.

We are fools to bring it into the west and it is and will cost the west even more dearly.

Fetullah Gülen’s movement is neo-Ottomanist. They seek to turn the Turks from a a fairly moderate selection of Islamic teachings towards the Hanballi school of Sunni Islam (not a moderate one). They then seek to restore the Caliphate with the capitol again in Istanbul. They aren’t Al Qaeda, but they are an enemy of the US.

Good information. Thank you.

The way that the Movement infiltrated secular Turkey's society reminded me of another movement: The 1960s Marxist-Alinsky campus radical, psycho spoiled brats who were celebrated in the establishment MSM as the most intelligent generation ever!. They are now arguably that very establishment that praised them and they hold themselves and their ideological issue in even higher regard.

They hijacked the now defunct traditional, patriotic Democratic Party in the 1970s. I asked Abe to warn America once again.

You initiated a policy to tolerate the Marxist-Alinsky radicals and let them rant; not only has it not ceased but was constantly augmented by decades of infiltration and indoctrination. You now have two Americas. In my opinion, it will not cease until a crisis shall have been reached and passed. "A house divided against itself cannot stand." I believe this government cannot endure, permanently, half statist and half free; I do not expect the house to fall; but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing, or all the other.

“Darwin was not Jewish. Details, details.”

Whomeever a muslim does not like is a Jew.

Ahmadinihad is a Jew to Saudis.
Col. Quadaffi is a Jew to whatever thugs took over.
Bush is a Jew.

etc.

Biggest insult they have.
