Browning makes some solid guns. I went to an auction this weekend and watched a couple of pristine Auto 5's go for some ridiculous amounts of money. Browning's guns tend to hold their value nicely. And why not? The company represents the lasting legacy of John Moses himself.
But Browning doesn't make enough pistols. The ones they do make are excellent. I especially like their .22s. I think the half-pint 1911-22 is one of the sharpest fun-guns out right now. But the Buckmark is a serious gun. All of the Buckmarks are single action, blow-back, fixed barreled semi-automatics. They are known for their accuracy, reliability, and ease of maintenance.
The Buckmark comes in a number of permutations. Barrel lengths, finishes, options…the standard deviations. But if you follow that link above, you won't find the one we are reviewing. Lipsey's, a major firearms distributor, has a dealer exclusive from Browning. This is a standard Buckmark Camper, with a twist. What makes this Camper special? The threaded barrel.
Design
The threaded barrel is such a nice amenity. .22 suppressors can make a typical automatic much less noisy. With the right ammunition, a suppressed Buckmark is not much louder than its action. Even if you don't have, or want, a suppressor now, you might want one later. Better to have the option.

The heavy regulation and tax structure imposed on their aquisition by the FDR adminstration has been one of the biggest public health disasters in this country. Millions have lost hearing as a result of this idiocy.
I have a Buckmark similar to the one pictured, mine has the7” bull barrell but it is fluted fluted barrell and not threaded. It’s fun to shoot and like my other Browning always does what it’s supposed to.
I completely agree. This is the next battle to be won. It is a fundamental safety issue. Next up on the chopping blocks should SBRs.
BTW, I have a Buckmark. It is an excellent firearm. It chews through just about any ammo. I have a Browning holographic sight (rail and sight approx $70) on it and I can consistently shoot 1" groups at 25 yards with bulk CCI ammo. I should mention the holographic sight is worthless if the sun is behind your back. I had to switch over to iron sights yesterday morning. That switch over only takes about a minute. Funny thing though, as soon as I switched it over, the Buckmark was confiscated by the kids. They love shooting it.
What I like about these, is that you can swap out magazines so quickly, and be right back in business.
If you’ve got someone with you, there’s no need to run out of ammo at all, as long as your stores are adequate.
Looks like a great little gun, and I like the idea it’s threaded.

My ruger autos have been much more rugged then my buck mark camper.
I forever having to tighten the the screws that hold the rear sight base on. Some say lock tight them but when you have to trar it apart every 500 rounds or so to clean it loctight maybe to much trouble.
You can tell when the base gets a bit loose it starts jamming.
I wouldn’t buy another buck mark.
