CBS News has been told that, hours after the attack began, an unmanned Predator drone was sent over the U.S. mission in Benghazi, and that the drone and other reconnaissance aircraft apparently observed the final hours of the protracted battle
But it was too late to help the Americans in Benghazi. The ambassador and three others were dead.
Retired CIA officer Gary Berntsen believes help could have come much sooner. He commanded CIA counter-terrorism missions targeting Osama bin Laden and led the team that responded after bombings of the U.S. Embassy in East Africa.
You find a way to make this happen, Berntsen says. There isnt a plan for every single engagement. Sometimes you have to be able to make adjustments. They made zero adjustments in this. They stood and they watched and our people died.
SF QRF, sorry for the typo I’m on a Phone in a chaotic environment and im not suposed to be doing this.
SF. Special forces
QRF. Quick reaction force
I think he set him up for a kidnapping and it went bad on him.
obama didn’t make it happen
My guess is after the first QRF from Tripoli took KIA, command got cold feet and began to imagine a “Desert One” scenario and cancelled the second QRF from Italy.
So they just sat there. So now u c why i say this was Barry’s own blackhawk down —> HAWK BACKDOWN.
NO, he didn’t, and that’s a key concept. Eastwood’s empty chair is an incredibly powerful visual of this absent-in-every-way would-be president.
Any normal human beings watching the situation in Benghazi unfold were beside themselves wanting to ACT.

Wow. A very reasoned, thought-out take. And this presents a cold, calculated scenerio that would be on track with the type of things he schemed in the Illinois political realm, and thereafter. Imagine the boy/child and his bobos sitting there watching in real time...

The first QRF was only a small group of Americans who met up with a group of Libyans. Why was there a second QRF? Were they both supposed to rescue and evacuate?
Yes the first was just 10 Americans and 30 Libyans from Tripoli and the second was larger, more powerful and from further away, but didn’t end up launching for what i think was political reasons. And they both had the same mission.
There were two because the decision was made to evac ALL personel both from the consulate and also the “annex” one mile away.
Why wouldn’t they launch at the same time?
0bama is a Leader. As such, he figured by going that day to campaign in Las Vegas, everybody would see he didn’t think it was a big deal... and follow him in that thought.
As for the drone, that was to make the movie, for release by the first couple of days in November, gracing us with his eminent leadership.
Yes .
One aspect of the Benghazi situation that has gotten very little attention is the fact that absolutely no attempt was made to send help during the 8 hour attack on the consulate. Romney needs to confront Obama about this point and demand an explanation during Monday's debate.
There is a huge difference in the make up of a man who does not respect and feel the duty to protect human life and one who does.
The man who does not respect human life will see the deaths of people without emotion and empathy. It does not matter to him in a deep way if people are killed and he’s not moved to be a hero.
The man who loves his fellow man will go out of his way to protect the lives of others. You see it in life around emergencies...the man who will dive into the water to rescue the stranger whose car when over the bridge versus the man who will just stand there.
Obama is the guy who has distain for people and human life.
Well, no Keeeding!
We came, We Saw, Our Good Men Died...

For hours- literally for hours. That's an eternity in todays battlefield.
If the whole assault lasted over 6 hours and the military had time to get a slow moving Predator on station and orbit it for “the last several hours” (ie 3+ hours) while the assault was in progress, then there was plenty of time to call in several waves of fast moving attack jets armed with precision JDAM munitions guided by the Predator's targeting system to hit terrorists attacking the Embassy and to provide air support for the Seal relief team coming in and to cover their retreat to the second safe house.
From reports, it seems like just about everybody who was anybody (except, it seems, Obama himself), both in theater and in Washington, was watching the attack unfold from start to finish in real time with both audio and video feeds and the Embassy security chief giving a real time narrative for hours right up until the time he was killed, presumably on screen.
After the Embassy was over run and it was obvious all staff were either dead or had left, the whole Embassy with it's attackers in it should have been bombed until there was nothing left standing to keep all classified information from falling into the hands of the enemy and to save the FBI a wasted trip Libya in a futile effort “to catch the real killer”.
Our people deserve better.
Ooh, I love it.
