Obama leads in Florida by 1 point (SurveyUSA)
Survey USA ^ | 10/20/2012

Posted on 10/20/2012 5:25:33 PM PDT by Joe27

In an election for President of the United States in Florida today, 10/19/12, Barack Obama is a nominal, statistically insignificant, single point ahead of Mitt Romney, 47% to 46%, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted for WFLA-TV in Tampa. Compared to an identical SurveyUSA poll 5 weeks ago, Romney is up 2 points, Obama is down 1 point. Florida's critical 29 electoral votes remain up for grabs, 18 days till votes are counted. Romney has gained ground in each of 3 SurveyUSA tracking polls going back to 07/20/12. Obama's once 12-point lead among Florida women has been reduced to 4 points. The contest is tied among men. Narrowly, Cubans vote Republican. Decisively, non-Cuban Hispanics vote Democrat. Voters under age 50 vote for Obama. Voters age 50+ vote for Romney. Whites vote for Romney 5:4. Moderates vote for Obama 5:4. Independents break 44% to 40% for Romney.

Just arrived home from a trip to Florida by car. We love traveling off the beaten path.

What I observed judging by Romney/Ryan campaign signs through out the state where we traveled...thousands of Romney/Ryan signs. They were everywhere.

Large billboards along major interstates on I-95, toll roads, throughout Orlando that were anti-Obozo were great.

I saw two Obozo signs...two! We traveled down I-10 to Jacksonville, I-95 to Cocoa, Melbourne, Palm Bay. All along US 1 down the coastline, multiple routes through Orlando and towns south and west. Leaving Florida we took a route toward Tampa up the western coastline, skirted the coast on the way out south of Tallahassee, Panama city and so forth.

From what I can tell...Romney team mobilized BIG time. Literally thousands of R/R campaign signs.

Kept telling my wife....Romney's got Florida.

I guess I’m the exception when it comes to Obama-Romney signs.

I live in an intown Atlanta neighborhood. I mostly see Obama signs. My gay neighbors have a huge Obama banner that they got from the Gay Pride parade last weekend. And they have three “Obama Y’all” sighs on their front lawn.

As I come home from work I drive by million dollar homes near Emory University. In four blocks there are six Obama signs and only 2 for Romney. Don’t these idiot libs know what a second Obama term would do for them financially?

Fortunately Georgia is a solid Romney state so the signs aren’t important, but I do wonder about the sanity of Obama supporters.

43% D sample and he could only get 47% in this poll...

conclusion: Nobody but the hardcore Dems and few other stragglers are for Obama.

internals are very comforting, Romney really up by 4-5 in Florida in a balanced sample.

Obama is SOOOO toast.

Nassau county here too, have seen 3 Omaumau signs, all in one yard. And there are at least 8 yards within 1/4 mile with R/R signs.

But it would be racissstttt to ID the guy.

I live in Florida, too.

Right along the crucial I-4 corridor.

All I see are Romney signs and bumper stickers. Very, very few for Obama.

Plus, Hell must have frozen over because the Orlando Slantinel newspaper endorsed Romney.

Florida is a lock for Romney.

I can see why Obama might be up a point. There are a lot of dead voters out there who will vote for him no matter what.
