Lucky, and how. She’s really lucky she’s not paid what she’s worth.

If a woman knows that she is being paid less than a man who is doing the exact same work as her at the same company then it’s her fault and no one else.

I’m very sick of this topic and it makes me less willing to hire women.

If you believe that you are equal to a man then negotiate your salary - like a man. Period. Or go home.

Women are doing themselves a HUGE dis-service pushing this BS issue.

Speak up, or step out.

As far as I am concerned, based on the few times I have seen her, MSNBC is paying her about $1,999,999 too much for her services.

They don’t call it “The Morning Shmoe” for nothing!

She doesn’t get paid less than Joe. On air they perform the same functions but, as the creator of the show he is paid a “Total Compensation Package” which includes being paid for his Intellectual Property. As well, he performs additional work as a producer requiring him to meet with ad execs and brainstorming how to package the show for the target audience.

He actually performs more work than Mika and is compensated as such.

The day they name the show “Morning Mika” she might have a point. Until then she’s just eye candy and could be replaced in five minutes without missing a beat.

I’d pay her $25K. But she’d have to wear one of those little maid outfits while she dusts.

How someone like Mika gets 2 million a year is a mystery to me. Joe making 4 million is equally mysterious.

It’s what the market will bear I suppose but I just can’t fathom that either are ‘worth’ that much.

while he was coming from primetime and he was worth a lot more, he's also the creator of the show, I was certainly not 14 times less worth than him.

You are if, demanding more money, they decided to go with someone with more of a track record and you lost the gig altogether.

When you're trying to get your foot in the door you're not in a position to demand a high salary. You take what you can get and use the opportunity to learn your chops. Later, maybe, you're in a position to demand more money. Which she did and she got.

Since she's not that bright, its hard to imagine what she'd be doing if she lost this gig. She sees herself as some kind of victim when in reality she is richly blessed.

I think Romney was talking about people like her.

This morning, as MSNBC's Morning Joe came to an end, co-host Mika Brzezinski had some praise for colleagues and the company she works for. "We've been talking a lot this week about women and equal pay and all these issues," she said. "I have to say, in all seriousness, I'm very lucky to be working with you [co-host Joe Scarborough] and for a company [MSNBC] who has actually dealt with this problem transparently."

What poor (deficient) Mika doesn't understand is, that she just demonstrated why it's reasonable for 'some' women to make less than their male counterparts.

Message lost, because there is no sound detected if there are no brains close to where the tree falls.

Mess-NBC, that’s rich. These are the same people who talk about corporate CEO salaries being outrageous. No, the outrage is a talking-head making $11 million/year to read a teleprompter. Good lord, how is this garbage network still in business?
