I don’t see anything in there about the tapes being burned.
RATS would go crazy. :)
Murdoch really needs to start his own journalism college, to produce reporters and journalists to standards far higher than exist in current journalism schools.
Oddly enough, these would *not* be accredited degree schools, as that just confuses the issue of quality. Instead there needs to be four tiers of education.
One tier would be to train objective reporters, because objectivity is far more important to readers than most reporters today are able to create. They just cannot resist inserting their biases and opinions.
The second tier would be the “intermediate” tier that teaches journalism. Students would be drilled about fallacious arguments, how to write without using them, and how to rebut them:

The third tier (the “PhD” tier), would be to teach editing. This is terribly important, as good editors are extremely rare today, but are essential to maintain quality.
The fourth tier is the business of publishing, the logistics of how to run a newspaper and its personnel.
The liberal media.....they ran their Titanic into an iceberg by being so blatantly pro-Democrat and now they want to be picky about what rescue ship they get on.
maybe you could come down here and buy the st. pete times commie rag while you’re at it
I don’t see why anyone would care.
The WSJ is probably just as liberal except for its op-ed page, so I doubt they would make too many changes
Murdock bought the Wall Street Journal and their philosphy hasn’t changed. They are loaded with liberals as is reflected in the tabloid as well as radio broadcasts. One shouldn’t expect any change in the LA Times or Chi. Tribune should Murdock be the controlling force. Another example is Fox News at one time considered fairly conservative not any more with prominent spots to Juan Williams, Heraldo, Beckel as well as Rinos such as Hume, Kristol and yes even Krauthammer. Free Republic and Drudge are by far the best news sources.
Wait for Warren Buffet or Soros to bid up the price. Buffet and Berkshire Hathaway are getting into the Newspaper Business.
