Here is what I think... on GMA on November 7... george stuffoneuphisbutticus will say, “I cannot believe Romney won with these margins... I don't know anyone that voted for him”.

Two weeks before the election in 19, the media polls had an average of carter 51% and Reagan 39%.

For another view of a daily tracking poll:

http://news.investors.com/special-report/508415-ibdtipp-poll.aspx

This is the latest TIPP/IDB tracking poll and shows Obama widening his lead from yesterday to 1.7 percent.

That said, keep in mind this is a D+7 poll and has consistently had Romney leading with independents, the last two days by 11 so it appears the polls that do show a debate bounce are showing it with DEMS coming home.....and even then not to a great degree...think many will not vote.

If I were to guess, the final election this year will be D+1, significantly more even than even Rasmussen’s poll. I don’t see a GOP+ year just because it is a presidential election and that would be unheard of at this point.

But, it will be much more like 2004, very even.

I believe that there are enough voters that are pissed off with this marxist pos that I believe that he will be denied another term.

You folks on this thread are nuts. Romney may be ever so slightly ahead now, but nothing like Gallup is showing.
Gallup has been totally cowed by threats from the Administration. We are being set up for claims that Obama makes the biggest comeback in history.

Gallup’s results will start moving sharply in the other direction (probably by returning to its earlier, heavier Democratic weighting) to make it look like Obama is moving up rapidly. Forewarned is forearmed.

“So Romney’s going to win, ok, no need for me to vote on the 6th... I already voted, mwahaha!”

Guess you “wasted” your vote, hey? (I already voted too. Most satisfying vote of my life, not so much because I love Romney that much, but because I could finally take effective action to help oust our Commie-in-Chief.)

That might have some weight if Obama had a lick of experience when he was elected.

I agree; I said “pretend”. He has deceived plenty of people with his act already; too many people apparently just seemed pleased to see a clean, articulate (half) black man without a Negro accent.

It’s an imperfect world. Bite the bullet. I’m not willing to put up with four more years of Obama.

“Obama will at least be able to pretend he has experience (even if it is disastrous), while Romney’s background doesn’t have much in this realm.”

Good point. The dims have successful stonewalled most of the details so far on Libya. In the next debate Barry will just not answer the questions and talk about coffins like we saw in the last debate. That puts Romney in a tough spot.

Being ahead, I think Romney will play it safe and not try to trade blows with the kenyan over Libya. Better to attack obama on less emotional issues.

I hope Gallup is accurate, not merely an outlier.

I never thought the Libya story had much legs anyway in terms of votes; Americans vote for their self-interests, and this one (and I believe international affairs in general) is fairly low in priorities when people can’t pay basic bills.

International matters are important when people aren’t kept awake at night by domestic concerns. FWIW, Romney can certainly point out that there is no part of the world that is in better shape than when Obama took office.

Americans don’t like to see their embassies burned and diplomats tortured, raped and murdered. And they don’t like to see the Administration lie ineptly and try and cover up what happened.

Particularly when there were months of warnings and requests
for more security from the Ambassador. He was begging for more security and got less.

When this is added to the Fast and Furious scheme this will be plenty for R to make The Disaster lie and sweat.

Israel and Syria are additional easy ones not to mention Iran. Romney’s question is “Do you trust this administration to safely handle these problems, an administration that has bungled horribly in Libya and Egypt already?”

Romney will go for the jugular and attack The Disaster precisely over Libya and Fast and Furious. He has him on the ropes already and only Crowley’s rescue kept him from being administered the fatal blow.

So now Romney has him on record and the CIA is stating what he said about the incident from being to end has been false.

He was warned but paid so little attention to intelligence that it made no difference. This negligence and lack of judgment will definitely be hit hard over and over.

I agree that those are all important international issues; Americans are not going to view them as importantly when they don’t know where their next rent/mortgage payment will come from, or how they will buy groceries or fill their gas tank. International issues, like social issues, always take a back seat when personal financial issues are first & foremost in people’s minds.

At this point it is a question of those who want a better employment picture versus those who want “Obama phone”; with the exception of well-off people who have the luxury on focusing on more remote issues, this is the essence of the election.
