I missed it earlier, but everyone here on the Live thread seemed to agree Romney was a riot! Looking forward to seeing it.

Listening to the re-run on Hannity. Romney eviscerated B. Hussein, while Bath House Barry was trying to be “self-deprecating” (you can see the sneer at pretending to laugh at himself).

Mitt Romney's surprisingly hilarious speech at the Al Smith dinner

This was very good. He didn't write the material, but listen to the delivery, it is very good. He is not just reading the jokes like 99% of most public speakers, he knows exactly how to deliver it to wring out the laughs. This is a learned skill, and it shows him to be very quick witted. He is much better than Leno and Letterman on an average night.

Just watched Romney. He was poised and very indeed funny.

Obama....very much obsessed with himself and not nearly as funny.

Phantasmagorical!

A friend at the Human Life Foundation Dinner tonight tells me many pro-lifers there had boycotted the Al Smith Dinner because of the president’s attendance.

They can always watch Romney’s outrageusly excellent speech on Youtube.

I wish Romney had welcomed everyone to the Alfred Packer/Donner Pass Party dinner.

For dinner they would have roasted Big Bird, Hot Dog, and Joe “Delaware Hens” Biden. For desert, stuffed Candy “Crow-Ley.”

I saw three versions: (1) YouTube, not sure from which station, (2) Hannity, and (3) C-Span. Only after watching C-Span did I realize that the row behind the speakers was for the press, and they had Katie Couric and Chris Matthews there!

I saw a side of Romney last night at the Al Smith dinner that I had not known existed, as no doubt for many others who saw his little speech.

He was self-deprecating, funny and best of all, absolutely skewered the phony narcissistic, commie, Dear Leader.

I know he didn't write most of his jokes, but was surprised me is that he apparently has "taken the gloves off," and is not listening to some of his advisers who no doubt, were wetting their pants as he lambasted Barry over and over.

I was alone and started jumping up yelling "Yeah!"

He got some real good shots in and I've got to say I was proud of him.

In fact, in his delivery and facial expressions, he reminded me a little of the Gipper....which ain't all that bad.

But his best line was about the Lame Stream Media (with tingles Mathews sitting right behind him) when he said:

“I never suggest the press is biased. They have a job to do and I have a job to do. My job is to lay out a positive vision for the country, and their job is to make sure nobody finds out about it.”
