80-Year-Old Woman Arrested for Taking Down Posters of Obama with Hitler Mustache

An 80-year-old woman who remembers when the United States helped defeat the Nazis faces charges for tearing down posters of President Barack Obama with a Hitler mustache.

Nancy Lack said she was livid when she saw the posters, put up by supporters of perennial fringe presidential candidate Lyndon LaRouche, outside of her post office in Hebron, Conn., NBC Connecticut reported.

"My generation went through the Second World War, and Nazism is about the worst there can be," Lack told NBC Connecticut. "I just got very angry that they would do that to Obama’s image."

She took down the posters, knowing she would get in trouble for it, and put them in her car while a worker with LaRouchePAC followed her.

Afterward, she was arrested and now faces sixth-degree larceny and breach of peace charges.

"I guess I deserved it. I stole the posters," she said, adding that she stood by her actions.

I can picture my 88-year-old mother taking down ANY Obama sign. She tootles around town in her little white Corolla with a big NObama sign, just lookin’ for a fight. (Gotta watch her!)

Whether it’s Obama, Bush or anyone else, I applaud this woman’s actions and deplore the idea of some who would paint someone out as Hitler.

Obama is very much like Hitler and the posters are serving as an effective warning.

Besides, it appears she was outraged because bambi was portrayed as Hitler - not that there was a portrayal.

Rather than:

"I just got very angry that they would do that to any candidates image".

Regardless, what she did was illegal and age is not an excuse if she is of sound mind.

As I do yours. The first amendment exists precisely to protect political speech that someone may deem to be offensive. Otherwise, it wouldn't be necessary.

I guess you don't see the irony when you condone some of the same actions and attitudes that helped Hitler and his minions rise to power.

Obama is--by far--the closest thing to a National Socialist in the higher level of American politics, in our history. He employed many of the tactics that brought Hitler to power in his 2008 campaign--see, for example, Leftwing Chickens Coming Home.

His current ranting against "the 1%," also closely parallels Hitler's use of the aproximately 1% of the German population, who were Jewish, as a scape-goat for middle class German problems. (The tactic of blaming the Jews in Germany, was adopted by Hitler from Karl Marx's suggestion in the 1840s. Considering Obama's Marxist mentors, it comes naturally to Obama.)

The subject woman, of course, has been brainwashed by the Leftist media to believe the fantasy that the German Socialists weren't really Socialists. But such is not the reality. Hitler was actually to the Left of most of the present Democratic Party, who unlike Obama have only gradually embraced Socialist class-hatred.

Political speech? I thought for all 'speech'? And, why does political posters get a pass on the median of the post office? I should be able to put anything I want there if that is the outcome of free speech.

As for the woman, considering that political prints get a pass, she should have simply put a sign up detailing her concerns for facial hair with the others.

It makes me smile simply on the mental image I have of an old loony Obama supporter tangling with LaRouche supporters.

Shes obviously “Ole Fashioned” and if a GW Poster was in front of her little post office in her little town Id bet you she would have taken it down.
She comes from the old school and you dont put a “Hitler Stash” on just about any thing especially a photo of the Pres no matter who it is.

While all speech is protected, to a degree, it is a continuum. Political speech is the closest to absolute, along with speech critical of the government (which I would call poltical, but others differentiate).

Other types of speech (commercial, defamatory, obscene, etc.) have less protection, and, in some cases, very little protection.
