Between Wednesday's Nightly News and Thursday's Today, NBC displayed an obsession with the liberal meme of attacking Mitt Romney's "binders full of women" remark during Tuesday's presidential debate. The network's delusional hyping of the manufactured controversy reached a crescendo when Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski appeared on Today to proclaim: "Romney just completely doesn't have any leg to stand on when it comes to women and the economy." [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump]
Today co-host Savannah Guthrie teed up Brzezinski to slam Romney: "...it has taken on a life of its own. The Democrats love it. They think it really shows Mitt Romney at his most awkward. But if the fight is for independent, undecided women voters, do you think this is an issue that's weighty enough to resonate?"
Except the legs of all the women who have worked with him, and who have stepped forward in support of him. This is almost as bad as Matthews asking if challenging Obama is unconstitutional. These people are demented and deranged.
Life can not get any more bizarre in liberal media land. They have become Monty Python America.
“Doesn’t have a leg to stand on” is offensive.
My grandfather lost his leg in WWII.
I demand that NBC apologize for their insensitivity.
The 2nd debate was another fiasco for Zero because of Crowleygate, and this is the only thin reed the Dems can pull from it: a revival of the silly war on women.
Agree. They needed something prior to monday to take the emphasis off higher UC claims, and Bengazhi Gate.
Great post, says it all.
All jokes on this aside, what exactly are the liberals upset about? Romney indicated that he wanted to do outreach, to recruit women to work in his administration. How can liberals oppose that on policy grounds? Why would liberals be upset that he wanted to recruit women? What am I missing??????
It just proves they have nothing on Romney so they try to make something of absolutely nothing. Biteme is on the campaign trail mocking the binders comment, what an election winning tactic, idiots!!
The worst this could be described as is an imperfect turn of phrase. Romney did not put women in binders; he organized their resumes with them.
Obama saying “when I was president” was a much odder gaffe. Republicans are not focused on misstatements as much as factual errors and a poor track record. That Obama’s camp is focused on such a thing wreaks of desperation.
a revival of the silly war on women.
Silly is right. I actually have Facebook friends who think they will not have access to Birth Control and/or Abortion will be outlawed if Romney is elected. And that’s all they base their vote on. Some others are only voting for Obama because they can finally get healthcare. Again, that’s all that matters to them. Obama could lock up their Grandparents in a Gulag and they would look the other way as long as they are getting what they want.
Like the Big Bird comment I’m beginning to think Romney said this to get Dems in a tizzy about nothing. And they bit big time. What a stupid thing to focus on at this point in a campaign. Dems are prattling about Romney’s binders comment while their campaign is crumbling. Except for the usual dimwitted rad-feminist contingent, nobody cares. Voters care about who’s going to fix the economy not about a so-called gaffe about “binders full of women.”
Women in all 57 states hate Romney...
