Nixon was a huge friend of Israel.
His decision to re-supply Israel in the Yom Kippur war prevented Israel from having to use nuclear weapons, and really was the start of the great friendship our countries have had until Obama.
Nixon gets his bad rap because he was mean to his enemies, which included secular, liberal, Jewish people who never gave a shekel to Israel and who find observant Jews embarrassing and backwards.
Well, Nixon was right about those JINOS. F-k ‘em.

I agree with you, of course.
The reigning attitude on Manhattan’s Upper West Side is one of fashionable leftism. This is where Pauline Kael lived! Having lived in Indiana most of my life, I am regarded as an emigre from a curious land. Needless to say, I have adapted to NYC much more quickly and readily than many New Yorkers could adapt to life in Indiana...
As for Ann Archy, I know nothing about you or your views, but since you've been here since 1997, we obviously need to give you **LOTS** of benefit of the doubt. You wouldn't have survived on Free Republic that long if you were anti-Israel.
If you are a professing Christian, you need to be praying for Jewish people and for Jerusalem:
Psalm 122:6-8: “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.”
