I read this morning that a delegation of Catholic bishops (including Cdl. Dolan of NYC) are going to make a visit to Syria to appeal for a “political solution” that would respect the rights of all Syrians. Jews and Christians, who were more or less tolerated by the Assad regime, are fleeing from Syria as fast as they can, because it is obvious that the “Arab Spring” is simply another name for Islamist takeover.
I think it’s a valiant gesture for the bishops to go there, but I don’t expect much to come of it. The jihadists, supported by the US government, are determined to make it another Islamic paradise.
And pray for Cardinal Dolan and his fellow Bishops. Pray for their intentions and their safety.
