President Obamas campaign spokeswoman said that he takes responsibility for the security of U.S. diplomats, less than a day after Secretary of State Hillary Clinton took the blame.
President Obama takes responsibility for the safety and security of all diplomats serving overseas, said Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki on Fox News today. Secretary Clinton of course has a great amount of responsibility as Secretary of State.
Psaki denied that Clintons remarks were a coordinated roll-out to shelter Obama ahead of the debate, as Foxs Shepard Smith suggested.
I take responsibility, Clinton told CNN during a trip to Peru yesterday. The president and the vice president wouldnt be knowledgeable about specific decisions that are made by security professionals.
Three Republican senators replied by arguing that the buck stops with Obama. If the President was truly not aware of this rising threat level in Benghazi, then we have lost confidence in his national security team, whose responsibility it is to keep the President informed, said Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H., and Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., in a joint statement.

Now just suppose, that Obama knows that Benghazi was/is a terrorist hot spot. His administration purposely reduces the security forces there hoping or knowing that there will be an attack there on 9/11/12 for a number of terrorist reasons. Now, the attack happens with just enough time for Obastard to launch a military strike a week or a couple of days before the election just to make himself "look" presidential and all. You know, Wag the Dog just to get a bump to try to push him into victory.
It makes me sick to even consider such a notion but it is EXACTLY what the demoncrats would do.
She did neither, this is the temporary fix they need to get through the election and Hillary is simply doing a damage control. She gave Obama cover for Biden’s lie and credibility for tonight’s debate if he is asked the question, I promise you, he will parrot her with a similar response.
The president and the vice president wouldnt be knowledgeable about specific decisions that are made by security professionals.
Good question . Taking responsibility 24 hours after Hillary already took responsibility 5 weeks later.
Epic fail.
Another question .
Mr president you have taken responsibility for the terror attacks 5 weeks ago. When did you conclude that you were responsible.
This is what they would ask a republican so this question will never
be asked.
It only took a month of hiding, lying, coverups, whitewashes and media blackouts...
What a bunch of idiots.
In fact, it played out just the way Hiilary said it would...
Somebody had to 'man up', and it wasn't Oblamer.
Just like Hillary's ad predicted.
He’s responsible for the “video” hoax too.
Oblamer still has plenty of wiggle room to revise and extend the remarks.
I would love for mitt to ask what he means when he says he takes responsibility. He will resign? Fire Hillary? ....
She never took the blame: she blamed it on security professionals. Romney better not let Obama get away with that.
The other issue is WHO told Susan Rice to lie during interviews on 5 separate networks 5 days after the attack:
As for who approved Ambassador Susan Rices talking points for a string of Sunday-show appearances five days after the 9/11/12 attack in which she infamously insisted the whole thing was the spontaneous result of outrage over an internet video (even though we now know that intelligence officials knew it was a coordinated, pre-planned attack within 24 hours), Clinton maintained that youd have to ask Ambassador Rice herself, via the WFB:
I think Hillary played Obama on this. She was getting a lot of bad press and blame already. Why not just accept blame before the debate, and leave Obama open to accusations of throwing her under the bus. In effect she forced him to take blame lol.
Thank you all for the great comments
Excellent-let the unravelling begin.
Give Obama the chance to say when he first met with his national security team after the attack.
