MILLINGTON, Md.- Maryland State Police say the victim of a weekend home invasion fired gunshots at the suspect, who remains at-large after fleeing the scene.
The incident reportedly occurred shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14 at a home on the 31000 block of River Road in Millington.
Troopers met with the victim who stated that an unknown male suspect broke into the home before assaulting him and fleeing the scene on foot.
According to police, an initial investigation revealed that the suspect forced access through a screen door located at the rear of the home. Police said the investigation also revealed that the victim fired two rounds from his registered Davis .38-caliber handgun. It is unknown if the suspect was struck by either round.

East of Baltimore.
Eastern Shore, as different from Baltimore as Alabama is from NYC.
You saying this is another redneck area of Mary Mary quite Contrary land? (Redneck = good)

Oh yes, once you get away from Baltimore and the Counties in close proximity to WASHDC a lot of sanity arises.
Trouble is the mentioned areas have the most people....and are overwhelmingly represented by the ‘takers’ and Govt Employees.
I think it’s a requirement that one have a special talent for cluelessness in order to be a bureaucrat.
His “registered” handgun? Is there a registration process in MD that I’m not aware of?
In the rare event that the media must discuss handgun use by civilians, they invariably refer to the handguns as "registered" or "licensed" even in states without any such schemes. I believe that this is calculated, to get people used to the notion of licensing and registration.
Hopefull that police might have gotten something to follow his trail. Something easy to follow, like the color Red.
That said, Maryland's Eastern Shore has it's own issues. The entitlement mentality is not absent. It's no coincidence that H. Rap Brown got a riot started in Easton. There are a few places that aren't safe, mostly in the towns. It probably explains this story.
That’s what I suspected. Thanks.
The “home invasion” dillema is this -
what if the “invaders” are shouting “POLICE” while they’re doing it?
Of course, the solution to this is for the police to make it a matter of policy that they never perform home invasions,
so the homeowner always knows that the invaders are NOT police.
That's potentially a big problem, but it has an easy solution. Require the police to turn on cruiser sirens and lights the instant they hit the door. Let the people inside know it's really the police.
No sirens, no lights? Then it's not the police coming through your door.

I live in Kent county. The small town of Millinton is very nice. It is ten miles from my home.
I have a “snake” pistol for protection. It fires a special 410 cal. Round that will remove a wooden door from ten feet. It can do that 5 times wtthout reloading. At night it looks an sounds like a volcano erupting .
