Other FReepers have reported that Stevens may have been in Benghazi for a meeting with AQ, et al. trying to get weapons back -- these weapons were a threat to airlines.

.. maybe it wasn't a matter of the Ambassador knowing too much.. it was simply a matter that if the Ambassador survived information about the failed effort to get the weapons would get out -- airline passengers would panic at the danger of being shot out of the sky.

RE: panic button

I thought those I-pads -- or whatever -- were virtually the same thing anywhere in the world. Even without an "official panic button" the U.S. personnel in Benghazi could have reached the White House, State, CIA, DoD . . . .

Re: call about David Hunt interview: What you called the “panic button” is the “duh” button. According to Hunt, it is automatic protocol-— no decision needed, no panic...AUTOMATIC.

Furthermore, Hunt said anyone who has ever been on watch in these command centers knows he is correct; it’s automatic.

He called it the elephant in the living room.

I thought Rush would talk about this for at least an hour. Several hundred military and civilians in different command centers around the world watched Obama fail to act as the attack took place for six hours. The Lamb woman admits it was broadcast, and Rush finds out and does a Lifelock ad.

I think Rush couldn’t absorb and/or trust the caller info on the fly. Hopefully, he will do some research on this Hunt interview.

I have been searching for 2 days for a blogger or journalist to pick and verify Hunt’s info. So far, nada.
