Mitt Romney holds 8 higher education degrees" bachelors, masters, 6 doctorates. What do we know about President Obama? He surrendered his law license in 2008 and all his educational transcripts are under seal so that no one can learn about who he is.
What an amazing difference between Mitt Romney and President Obama. The differences are so stark and obvious. Is it any wonder Romney crushed Obama in the debates?

You implied it.
They are of greater worth than Obamas Nobel Peace Prize.
Which raises another point, IF OBAMA FLAUNTED HIS HONORARY DEGREES, THEN HE’D BE EXPECTED TO SHOW HIS EARNED DEGREES. I hope Candy brings this to the debate table on tuesday.
Exactly correct. You stole my thunder. Not only does the community think highly of Romney by bestowing honorary Ph.d’s to him, but he has earned some substantial degrees on his own. A juris doctor ain’t no chicken feed! This is more than Obama ever received as a law student.
You need to do a better job of securing your password.
Some idiotic clueless n00b has hijacked your account, and is posting stupid drivel from it.
“You implied it.”
I said “Sorry but honorary Ph.D.s count for nothing.” How does that imply his earned degrees are worthless?
That's true, but not quite true in the way people may think.
The normal time required to earn an MBA at Harvard Business School is two years; Romney spent four years earning his MBA. The normal time required to earn a JD at Harvard Law School is three years; Romney spent four years earning his JD.
Romney's a very smart guy, but what he did is normal as part of Harvard's joint JD/MBA program. The catch is that under the joint program, you take courses for which both the B-school and the law school give you credit - so you're not really doubling up as you would normally think from the phrase 'two degrees at the same time.'
Romney graduated with some form of honors from law school and was a Baker Scholar at the B-school, meaning he was in the top 10% of the class. You don't get that by simply being smart. You also have to be a committed, hard worker.
Romney is a smart guy and I hope he wins (faute de mieux), but he is no intellectual. In this is is like most every American politician — no classical education or exposure to the liberal arts, and therefore not an educated man but a mere technocrat: a muddled thinker with no philosophical core and no systematic grasp of logic or rhetoric. It leads to an unprincipled, pragmatist, incoherent, and sentimental approach to the world entirely in keeping with one who would point to honorary degrees as an academic attainment.
I could buy five Ph.D.s on line before lunch, every bit as notable as Gov. Romney’s.
I'm confused. Barack Obama also has a Juris Doctorate from Harvard, the same degree that Mitt Romney received from Harvard Law School.
I am pretty sure Obama has a JD of his own. He probably worked about as hard for it as Romney did for his honorary PhDs.
Here is another way you could have said it to be crystal clear.
You: While I am not that impressed by honorary ph’d’s, earning a juris doctor is quite an achievement. Add to that a masters in business and a bachelors in liberal arts and Romney shows and ability to learn and persevere. Honorary degrees show that he has quite a bit of respect from the community. END
I had a roommate who got his juris doctor then went onto pass the bar. He was third in his class of over 1000 (Berkeley,CA) and during quartely crams students sought him out to study with him in hopes that they would be better prepared. sometimes our apartment was crammed with students studying.
That is what I know about what it takes to get a juris doctor. When you couple all of Romney’s other accomplishments Olympics, Staples, Sports authority, running for governor amassing over $250 million in wealth and you have to say this man is no business lightweight.
This is the rock bottom reason that Romney won the debate and will win again. He actually knows what he is talking about from a vast reservoir of knowledge gained by experience and education. You can’t fake these things!!! It comes through and Obama will lose again without the teleprompters - even with plants asking questions and a completely biased moderator.
.... Romney is an open book.
Where are Romney's school records? Sealed just like Obama's and those of most other politicians. And Romney is not exactly an open book.
I think honorary Ph.D.'s are usually given more for worldly accomplishments rather than academic intelligence, although Romney certainly has earned them more than most. It is impressive that Romney earned a JD and MBA at Harvard simultaneously, although this was the expected outcome of a joint program. Obama apparently graduated with higher honors from Harvard Law.
Romney has NOT earned a PhD, OK? His law degree is JD — this does not entitle him to be addressed as Doctor, any more than it would so entitle Obama. You’re just embarrassing yourself, fanboy. Give it up.
Very well said.
Not possible for a law school. Harvard and the University of Texas have the two largest law school classes. Each is in the 700s as entering 1L's. No law school graduates 800 students in a class, must less 'over 1000'.
I think Romney probably worked harder for his honorary PhDs. He probably at least wrote and practiced his own speeches.
"It's our practice to recognize an individual for his body of work, somebody who's been in their position for a long time," Sharon Keeler, an ASU spokeswoman, told The Associated Press. "His body of work is yet to come. That's why we're not recognizing him with a degree at the beginning of his presidency."
So maybe an honorary doctorate from Arizona State is worth slightly more than other honorary degrees.
(posted mainly so I could include ASU's smack-down of Obama)
Which probably puts him several short of Omaumau.
When Ted Baxter received an honorary doctorate on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” he wanted his colleagues to call him “Doctor.”
