WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – As President Obama began to hunker down at a plush resort here for three full days of debate prep, his campaign team signaled the incumbent may steal a page from Vice President Joe Biden and show a more aggressive tone in Tuesday's second face-to-face showdown with Republican Mitt Romney.
"Gov. Romney has been making pitches all of his life and he knows how to say what people want to hear whether that was during his time at Bain or during the dozens of town halls he did during the primary," Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Saturday. "His running mate also left him vulnerable on a number of issues -- admitting there was a $5 trillion tax cut, after he denied it, but again failing to explain how they would pay for it, leaving women worried about their ability to make choices about their own health care and failing to articulate their plan for winding down our presence in Afghanistan."
It's significant that Psaki previewed the president's next clash with Romney with an immediate mention of his time at Bain, a word Obama never mentioned during the first presidential debate, in Denver.
Senior campaign adviser David Axelrod said on "Fox News Sunday" that Obama is making “adjustments” before the debate and plans to be more aggressive.
Axelrod also referred to Romney's investment capital career before entering politics.
“We expect Governor Romney will have a great debate too," he said. "He is a great salesman. That is what he did as a professional, he is very good at it.”
Later Sunday, Psaki noted women's health-care issues were left out of the first debate, which appeared to suggest Obama would raise the topic this time.

So simple to counter. Romney lists all the successful companies and the number of people they employ and how he helped found or save them, and then lists all of the green companies that went bankrupt after Obama funded them.
“Mr. President, I have an established record of picking successful companies, and you have a record of picking losers.”
End of Bain attack.

I thought the moderators picked the topics and questions, not the candidates. Am I being naive? The debates are a fair and open exchange of ideas, right?
Romney should remind Obama that Obama’s top bundler ran Bain capital.
Bain would be a losing issue for Obama if the debate primarily stayed on that issue.

Well, Hillary referred to Herman Cain as a ‘pizza guy’ to Karzai.
They think that referring to hardworking Americans by their jobs is a bad thing.

Howdy Doody aka Obabaa, should do very well against Romney if his ventrilogist can feed Obabaa his lines via hidden mechanism of some sort.
But Obabaa on his own? Probably do as well as he did in “Harvard” or whatever the school he may or may not have attended physically if not mentally.

Axelrod needs to be thoroughly vetted as to his family background and family name change and family roots going back to Russian bolshevik days. Someone was telling communists in Russia in the 1980s that a fellow named Obama of a white mother was being groomed to be POTUSA. What bothers me very much about all this unknown stuff about Obama is that so many persons, 47%?, are willing to sell our Founders’ Constitutional government for the proverbial pieces of welfare silver.
Romney could ask Obama how much has 'occupywallstreet' cost cities and states? He could call it Obama's community activism.
Trying to make him spend time preparing for stuff that will not be a part of it.
Romney needs to prepare like last time and what ever comes up handle it and he will be just fine.
My two cents
Nah, no need to needlessly inflame. It would be better to ask Obama if he believes that the 10 Commandments are still applicable, such as, bearing false witness, or that one about coveting, or stealing, or murder.
Toooo bad there is no requirement to have drug tests before presidential debates.
