Because everyone had such a great time at the last shoot we are anxious for the next one.
The date for the 8th Annual TCMS shoot will be June 8th, 2013 and will be held at Dietz Gun Shop and Shooting Range, in New Braunfels, TX. Providing we get the OK from Mr. Dietz – I will call him this week to discuss our coming to the range.
Staying in the Pelican Bay cottages this year was a stroke of genius, so we will again be staying in cottages. The cottage pick for this shoot is the Cypress Creek Cottages, in Wimberley, TX. There are only twelve cottages at this place, and as of this writing 7 of them have been reserved. NOTE: They require full payment at the time the reservations are made. Wimberley also has some very nice hotels in the area in the event all the cottages get rented.
Making it a three & a half day weekend will be the plans for many of us, that way we can enjoy the area and have lots of porch time.
The Friday night dinner & Saturday breakfast places have not yet been decided. There is still plenty of time to figure out those details. Saturday after the shoot lunch will be provided by our own chef ~ cpdiii (Thanks Charlie!). Suggestions for the Saturday night meal are more than welcome.

That it greatness! Too funny. NYT and I saw a funny sign today also. I should’ve taken a picture. It was a big, round hay bale. Stuck in the top, the sign said, “Got my Obama bailout!”

Little Man & I took NYT to the famous (up here) Babe’s for lunch. (Awesome fried chicken!) They serve fried chicken or chicken-fried steak, mashed potatoes & creamed, sweet corn family-style. The waitresses do the Hokey Pokey.
NYT said, “That was a first for me.” It was funny.
Yes, the club house was beautiful.
It’s a nice place. I really liked it. The tables at the pistol/rifle range had nice, clean padding. They had small sandbags and cloth bricks out at the rifle tables. They’ll be adding lots more features in the coming months. They definitely need a restroom instead of one portable.
I think I might want to try the clay courses too. (Gotta get my shotguns fixed first.) They have 2 courses each with different environments. One is hilly and open, the other has lots of trees & hidden features.
They had more ammo today than Cabela’s did. NYT shook his head at me for paying $7.50 for 50 rounds of .22 long, super-sonic. They had lots of 9mm and other common rounds.
Their website says they do have shooting clays. You might call to find out the details. It doesn’t say much about their setup.
If mister pen likes shooting clays, he needs to check out Fossil Pointe, where we went today. See my post above to mylife about the two different courses they have for shooting clays. There were men headed out on the courses on golf carts. It looked really nice. Their shooting clay course are really popular up there.
Didn’t see any grasshoppers or snakes today to use the shotshell. :)
Little man was fixated on the 200-yard metal targets once he figured out he could hit them.
I have never tried clays myself.
I was thinking of getting a launcher that mounts into the tow hitch on your truck.
Then I could launch clays across the river.

This is for those that have not reserved a cottage at Cypress Creek Cottages ~ there is only one cottage available(#2), you have until the end of this month to claim it. You will have to call them to make the reservation.

Mrs alfa6 and I have made suitable, I hope, arrangements and will see y’all Friday evening if all goes well. This assumes nothing drastic comes up!!!

Awesome!!! Looking forward to seeing BOTH of you there. I’m still working on my hubby to come. I think secretly he really wants to. I just have to kick his butt out of his recliner, right? :)
I know someone that might want to come..he is heavily armed...but has never FReeped or been a FReeper.he doesn’t do computer stuff but solid conservative. He has great toys too. nYTeaxan,mylife,buckeye,laurenmarlowe and onyx have all met him at my house. Should I invite him? Would it be ok?
They might book a cabin and come bring really good stuff....lol. Code name ‘Clint Eastwood’....lol.
That would be awesome..Mr. pen is coming this year..so tell him he will not be the only newbie!
