I saw it today and it was awesome. The only letdown was that they condensed Francisco’s money talk.
Just saw the movie. It was Great! can see now why the rats don’t want you to see it! The movie is taken right from our headlines and O’s 30 some “czars”
Miss the art deco design as well.
Totally bummed.
P.S. It looks to me like some of the hollywood liberals sneaked their way onto the project diverted it enough to lose the flavor of part I.
Dagny in Part 1 was a BABE!
“It faithfully represents what is going on right now in this country”
Yes it does. Loved it. Saw it twice this weekend. Amazing allegory to what is unfolding right before our eyes. Aynd Rand was a visionary.
I moved to Texas from NY 3 months ago. Feel like I’m a little closer to John Galt.
I saw it Saturday night, and I almost missed it. Between the time that I bought our tickets online, and the start of the movie, they changed theaters, and we saw the coming attractions, and condom commercials, and then the beginning of that Psychopath move before we realized that something was wrong. We went back to the ticket taker, and he got us into the right theater, and free tickets to any movie. we didn’t miss much. I’m not going to succumb to any conspiracy theories.
So many movies and TV show are out there promoting collectivism, and here is this one promoting liberty and capitalism.
My wife, who has never read the book, was frightened by the similarities she saw between what was in the movie and current events.
At first, seeing new actors in the familiar roles was a bit disconcerting. I liked the actors in part I in roles, expecially Lillian, who was more like I pictured her than was the part II Lillian, who was way too pretty for the part, IMO, and Dagney, who was prettier in part I, and harder looking in part II.
The guy who played Reardon in part II I seem to remember playing a cop most of the time in other movies and TV shows. I liked the first Hank better.
My preferences may have been influenced b y the fact that the part I actors were the ones that I have pictured in those roles since I saw part I.
I eagerly await part III. It should be a real barnburner.
