If Vice President Joe Biden channeled his inner pit bull, Rep. Paul Ryan brought his inner puppy to the debate stage, according to facial expression expert Chris Kowal.
Kowal, an assistant professor at Purdue University, used computer software to analyze the facial expressions produced by the nearly 400 muscles in the human face during Biden and Ryan's face-off.
As Biden's big laughter took Twitter by storm, the computer model lit up with readings of frustration and discomfortthe emotions you might experience laughing at a funeral, Kowal said.
"It's not an uncommon reaction when people see something that really makes them uncomfortable, and frustrated they might laugh at inappropriate moments," Kowal said. "It was that."
"When I watched him laugh, it was a clear sign that he was frustrated," Kowal added.
When Biden rejected Ryan's arguments as "a bunch of stuff" and "malarkey," the emotional ratings went off the charts.
"When he said malarkeythe passion leading up the comment, the passion and the intensity of emotion was really strong," Kowal said. "He was very angry, very disgusted
sad and all of these three emotions were all in the 'high intense' level."

I saw a crazy old turd, and a polite Midwesterner.
ABC. No need to read any further.
When Cackle & Smirk Biden speaks his lies, the enemedia dutifully defend them. So when Cackle & Smirk is rude and obnoxious the same media praise him as ‘passionate’. Lying is a way of life for democrats, and with the current filth in media any lie can be floated and will be defended so long as it comes from a democrat.
I saw rudeness. Period.
.
The ‘RATS might like to refer to him as their Gay Warrior but Joey Buffoon is the original “passion” fruit.
Biden is long overdue for his fourth round of brain surgery. He’s got some deteriorating tissue up there ~ bet he doesn’t make it to January no matter who wins.
No mention that Twitter was taken by storm in a way not flattering to the crazy uncle. We know what we saw.
Biden carried on like a petulant child demanding attention and disrupting everything around him when he didn’t think he was getting his way. It was a detestable and juvenile display.
What some asst. professor and his computer software have to say about it is irrelevant.
I saw a guy that belonged in a straight jacket. He made a mockery of the office of the Vice President last night..people around the world watching this debate must have been laughing their asses off at Biden. He made America look like a laughing stock
I saw a garden-variety angry, bitter liberal who is quite used to spewing vitrol.
I didn’t see any of that. I saw the same obnoxious, bullying, self-important, lying Biden I’ve seen in numberous congressional recordings.
I saw a post on one of the other threads I thought was great... It said Biden reminded every divorced woman of her ex-husband.
Thanks Oldeconomybuyer.
I call BS.
More spin than a Kansas twister.
That said, he was following orders to try to humiliate Ryan. He failed because Ryan stayed on message and never lost his composure.
But this battle is far from over.
Next comes Obama. He will be prepped this time because if he fails...it isn't just Obama who gets the boot.
The entire Communist agenda will be retired.
Thus far, Obama has done the programming (on instructions from on high in the CPUSA command). But coming next (pure conjecture on my part), we will see what the big guns of American Communism can do. Obama will himself be programmed!
Who cares what experts say.
We know what we saw.
No need to explain it to us.
We are adults.
Ryan reminded me more of a full grown, strong but calm and intelligent labrador retriever sitting quietly by a pond in summer, half annoyed and half amused by a large horsefly buzzing in circles around him seeking a place to land and suck, accomplishing the latter, failing at the former.
This appears to be the “expert”:

He was a graduate student in 2010, so calling himself an “expert” might be a reach.
