... A senior White House official, speaking anonymously, told CNN they recognize the president is responsible for the security of all U.S. personnel around the world. But their intent here is to make clear that the vice president was not misspeaking when he said that he and the president were not personally briefed on the security requests.
The senior White House official also argued that while there were specific requests for additional security in Tripoli, there were none in Benghazi.

What version of “what really really really happened” is this? I have lost count.
This is an issue, but it isn’t the REAL issue. Ask any guy/gal on the street, should it be a no-brainer to have adequate security in a dangerous place like Libya, for our people on the ground there, and all would say, of course.
This point (we didn’t know about the request, in the WH), is just another trick to avoid the real issue...WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND doesn’t know that we need strong security in such places??????
Any administration that doesn’t get this, at whatever level, top to bottom, doesn’t deserve to be an administration.
Hello?
Wait a minute! Didn’t we hear only a few weeks ago that the president only attends 40% of his security briefings? Gee, maybe this was one he missed, what are the odds?
translation.
White house covers up their cover up.
Biden showed us all last night when talking about dead Americans that they think security is a laughing matter
ping
This is what happens when “leading from behind”.
Uh. Our ambassador wanted more protection wherever he was in that country. There must think we are really stupid.
Ole A**
Gunner Joe.
A senior White House official, speaking anonymously, told CNN they recognize the president is responsible for the security of all U.S. personnel around the world.Obviously the White Hut has heard from Team Clinton and was asked "where are you going with this? because I am NOT going under the bus."
Note well that this is a clarification to the original clarification. The dust hasn't settled on this one yet.
The best managers prevent fires from breaking out by proactive management and a steady hand that follows best practices.
A second rate manager is one who is perpetually running in the direction of the smoke to put out fire after fire.
A third rate manager is one who runs away from the smoke wrought by his incompetence.
Obama/Clinton run away from the smoke of fire after fire, leaving each fire to run its destructive course, then lie about it, then cover it up while blaming others... All with the complicity of a lapdog media.
and we knwo the like to be behind too..
What Biden did last night was disgusting and if they try and say he and obama were nto told then the qestion is why did they not go to their intels
Or:
Yesterday the WH via the VP lies and laughs this off, and the anonymous spokesperson claims the buck stops somewhere else than the WH.
Or:
“We didn’t know, but so what if we did? Ha, Ha, Ha.”
Perhaps, but I'm betting that they received daily briefings about the on-going incidents and escalating events that were occurring near or around the Benghazi consulate in the months and weeks leading up to the attack. Those incidents in themselves should have triggered an inquiry by Obama, as to whether there was proper security to protect Americans stationed there. He obviously didn't bother to attend those briefings, or bother to read the text of those briefings, because any security-conscious person, especially one who is responsible for the safety of all Americans, should have made sure they knew that proper security was in place to prevent the death of any American.
Yep, just a “bump in the road” to them.
What's to clarify? Isn't Biden the Vice-President, fully briefed on all this behind the scenes stuff and capable of speaking for the Administration?
On second thought, maybe Joe just "misspoke".
” A senior White House official, speaking anonymously,...”
Anything that comes after that, isn’t worth reading and has no credibility.
