Ahead of a Thursday night campaign rally in North Carolina, Mitt Romney made an impromptu stop to meet with the Rev. Billy Graham and his son, Franklin, at the reverend's home outside Asheville. Romney didn't officially land the elder Graham's endorsement, but he came pretty close. The famed evangelist told Romney he would do whatever he could to "help" the GOP presidential candidate, according to a readout from the Romney campaign. The vow came at the end of a 30-minute meeting between Romney and the Grahams, who talked about issues including Afghanistan, religious freedom and the growth of the Graham ministry in places like China, Sudan and North Korea. Photographers and a television crew were allowed in during the final minutes of the meeting, where Graham was overheard asking Romney, "What can I do for you?" "Prayer is the most helpful thing you can do for me," Romney replied. According to Mark DeMoss, a senior Romney adviser who was at the meeting, Graham then led a prayer for Romney after the cameras left the room. Graham also told the former Massachusetts governor, "I'll do all I can to help you. And you can quote me on that."

Wouldn’t you rather have had Hillary than Barack, if a Democrat had to be president.
Pray hard, Rev. Graham.
Nope! Hillary should be in prison for a multiple of felonies and Obozo should be in there too for perpetrating probably the biggest historical fraud in world history, besides being an illegal alien and a filthy muslim. Neither of them.
If you have to twist the quote, then your response should be regarded likewise.
There’s another similar article from abc/yahoo just posted here at FR. It has these lines:
“But today Graham appeared upbeat during the meeting with Romney and Graham’s son, Rev. Franklin Graham. Graham was seated in a big leather chair as he chatted with Romney about his late father, George Romney, who died in 1995 after suffering heart attack while working out on a treadmill. The elder Graham considered George Romney to be a friend, according to an aide.”
I didn’t know that Billy Graham had been a friend of Mitt’s father, and a Romney family friend. That’s very interesting!
Mitt is wise when he asks for prayer from Billy Graham. It’s the key.
That’s a pretty cold-blooded statement.
I agree with hating Hillary’s position on abortion which is flat out murder and don’t understand why Graham would endorse her but most of the rest could be construed as debatable.
Don’t get me wrong, I can’t stand Hillary but would like to know Graham’s reasons before saying such a man can go to ‘ell.
Everyone I know is praying. Things have not been going Obama’s way since the end of July for some reason. The Obama bunch seem very frustrated. God just may be tapping the accelerator because we have been gassing up the car.
Salvation is always for now, 'man' puts it off for the future. Some people like Russian roulette, unfortunately.
AMEN!
Billy Graham is to America what the Pope is to Italy. Always will be.
Not sure what quote you mean. You're saying that he did not say that he thought Hillary would be a good president? Really? I accept your apology.
Yup, that sure was a first for me to hear too. I never heard that come out of the DU. (maybe I would if I spent enough time there) so far I have not.
Disclaimer: I've probably spent a total of 7 minutes at the DU in the last ten years.
Thank you Rev. Graham, may God Bless you as much as you have blessed all of us.

If anyone can pray and intercede with God for poor lost Willard to repent of his sins and be saved its Dr Graham..
the same Billy Graham so maligned, lied about and hated by Mormons in the Religious threads...
Baptists listen and then “scratch where it itches”.
Mitt wanted prayer. That’s a good start.
Mormans think they get to heaven by good works.
Baptists know differently.
Graham will know to pray for the continued good works, but with a spiritual awakening that works will not be enough to enter heaven, nor to enter rest in this life.
We should all follow his lead.
This was big for Romney in terms of the evangelical vote.
“thanks” ... I agree, sometimes my spelling is atrocious ...
