State officials say they have found more than 1,100 inmates who they believe improperly collected unemployment benefits totaling more than $2 million while jailed in Illinois sometime in about the last year.
One Cook County inmate collected almost $43,000, according to the Illinois Department of Employment Security, though most were paid far less. Nearly all of the fraud occurred in mid-2012 from county jails across the state.

Bump
Who wants to quibble about this? These guys were unemployed, weren’t they? Besides we know how big-hearted the RATs are, don’t we?
Hey, as long as they were looking for work... :-P
we have the drug abusing "homeless" who basically get their free hospital/hotel stays with hot meals, warm beds, private rooms, cable tv and a shot every now and then of a narcotic to help their "pain"....we have medicaid diabetics who eat everything in sight....we have repeated alcoholics who can't work but sure can afford their booze and come in vomiting and having diarrhea and just can't understand why....
and the repeat offenders of those who shoot up their drugs and get massive cellulitis infections and need to be on expensive antibiotics and the narcotics of course for the "pain"...
most of these people are very ungrateful and unappreciative and treat professional doctors and nurses like they were servants...
laws are such that you can't turn patients away, and you can't just discharge them without a "plan" for their care.....which is why we just had a guy in for 6 weeks because he needed Iv antibiotics and was homeless.....
but your granny....she'd be expected to go home, take care of herself,period....she wouldn't get free hot meals and cable tv....
“Last year?””
“Mid-2012”??
What is correct?

And Illinoisans can’t understand why Illinois is considered to be one of the most corrupt states in the Union.
Did they vote for Obama at least once in the last election?
Living in Iowa, I enjoy taking my family on pleasure trips to many places in the surrounding states, including St. Louis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, and Kansas City.
But, if I never set foot in Chicago again, it will be too soon. I absolutely refuse to throw another dime in that cesspool.
