While Democratic U.S. Rep. Ben Chandler voted against the original Affordable Care Act, he said it deserves a chance to be implemented and cut health care costs, which he also said is the best hope for preserving Medicare.
Lets see if the Affordable Care Act works We need to see if it deals with the cost issue, he said. (8:50 in the interview.)
And he said holding down the cost of health care overall is the way he believes Medicare can be saved even as it continues to add to the debt.
Chandler, in his recent campaign ads, has criticized Republican candidate Andy Barr for supporting a proposal offered by the Republican House budget chairman and vice presidential nominee, Paul Ryan, that would change Medicare for those who are 55 or younger. It would convert it from its present format as a fee-for-service program to a voucher-like system in which seniors would pay their health care costs and then get reimbursed.
But Chandlers ads make it sound as if the plan would affect current retirees. He answered questions about whether that was false advertising (starting at 3:30 of the interview).
I do think, ultimately, it could affect seniors. And I really do believe that. But when you talk about privatizing, youre getting into a discussion of taking the guaranteed benefit, removing it and putting it on the backs of seniors future seniors, he said (4:45). Chandler said he believes cutting health care costs is the key to saving Medicare.
And find out what Chandler believes is one of the worst statistics Ive seen in a long time at 10:00. The interview, which aired Wednesday, starts with a discussion about the coming fiscal cliff that Congress have put off dealing with until after the election:

No.

So, let’s experiment with people’s lives and livelihoods. If you wanted to ‘see what happens’ then maybe a smaller ‘pilot program’, set up with limited scope in a limited area would have been a smarter thing to do. You didn’t do that because most, if not all of you grandiose narcissistic pathetic parasites on the taxpayer wanted to ‘make history’ and make sweeping ‘change’ - all the while expanding the power of government and your own importance. It was an incredibly selfish and poorly thought out act. Thanks so much.
Just another F___ing Idiot!
Bump
We all know it’s just a tax they are collecting to create new revenue. All they have to do is not pay the claims or say that your medical condition is not covered and they get to keep your hard earned EXTRA tax dollars and not give you the care you need. So say you’re 70 and need a heart bypass operation; nope sorry can’t do it; you are no longer paying in 40 percent of income taxes and your DNA sequence indicates you probably only have 5 - 10 years of useful life left and no dependents. No one needs you and neither do we. This is where we have come to. Add to that that you know they will continue to increase the tax rate for any reason imagined or not.
Judge Roberts, the traitor, allowed this to happen.
Another of those supposedly “Blue Dawg” Democrats that has been exposed.
Save Medicare by taking 716 Billion dollars away from it to pay for Obama care??
That doesn’t sound much like a save to me.
IF IT IS IMPLEMENTED... NO ONE IN AMERICA WILL EVER HAVE A CHANCE AGAIN!

I love how he makes it sound so harmless. “Let’s try it”
If it fails like every other gov’t program can we make it go away? Of course not.
I hate Democrats.
Let's see if parachuteless skydiving works... we need to see if it deals with the deceleration issue.
Any attorney who voted for a 2600 page law without reading it fully should be disbarred. We cannot enforce that as citizens, but we can remove them from office. He's very likely to lose this one as Barr is a good candidate.

Try it, you’ll like it, Hey Mikie!
A typical Democrat buffoon saying anything to keep his cushy job, while his constituents are drowning financially. He needs to be fired in Nov.
Ah, the smell of money.
