(CNSNews.com) - In the months leading up to the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, the U.S. Embassy in Libya was seeking to hire two bodyguards with limited English language skills at salaries of about $13,000 per year.
Job descriptions for these openings that the U.S. Embassy in Libya posted online said the State Department would give preference in filling them to qualified U.S. citizens who were family members of U.S. government employees.
The job descriptions explicitly stated that this included the same-sex domestic partners of U.S. government employees.
In addition to the two bodyguards, the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli, Libya was also seeking a security guard, a surveillance detection specialist, a chauffeur for the consulate in Benghazi and a Senior Guard for the Local Guard Force working to secure the embassy.

U.S. Embassy in Libya Sought $13,000-Per-Year Bodyguards With Limited English; But Gave Preference to Citizen Same-Sex Domestic Partners of U.S. Govt Employees
Because “same sex domestic partners” go over so well in the Muslim world...
Honestly, it would take a lot more than $13K a year for me to be willing to take a bullet for anyone living in Libya.
Just sayin’
BenghaziGate: We have to remind America that Obama intervened in Libya without Congress support.
This nation is going to hell in a hand basket.
13K @ month: Hillary’s liquor bill.
So what has happened to the government mandated disclaimer stating: “Shall not discriminate against, or grant preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin...”
$250/wk for a bodyguard?...talk about lowest bidder
“Because same sex domestic partners go over so well in the Muslim world...”
I’m surprised they didn’t accommodate “Trans-species” domestic partners.
If I were an ambassador in Libya, I do not think I would feel comfortable with the Bull Dyke spouse of an employee, stupid enough to accept $13,000 dollars a year, to guard me.
Especially if that Lesbian spoke Arabic, but wasn’t fluent in English.
Is that what Hillary Pays Huma?/ LMAO.
Too bad we have a state run press. If we had a free press they might look into the connection between hiring same-sex domestic partners and the fact that our Ambassador was anally raped with objects before having his body paraded around town...
The New York Times and Washington Post show a remarkable lack of interest in this aspect of the story.
Yes but whats 13k a year to a Libyan?
[an aside: Likely is why the Ambassador wanted to be posted to Libya....closet homo...]
If the requirement by the new Libyan government disallowed armed foreign guards/companies, or prevented the United States from having armed Marines to protect the embassy, then CLOSE THE EFFING EMBASSY AND LEAVE - TAKE US DOLLARS WITH YOU WHEN YOU DO IT. A President with balls would have insisted such.
Call me crazy, But I would rather have a couple marines that could handle M60 machine guns or knew how to set up claymores!
Sure, for you, but they were looking to hire Libyans, so $13k is probably a good deal for them.
That was unconstitutional, illegal, and morally and ethically wrong.
Heck, if they were looking to pinch pennies they probably could have gotten some Libyan Muslim Brotherhood members to volunteer their services for free to 'guard' the U.S. Embassy...
Well, they were probably also going to double as interior decorators.
Which means for a $14K bribe they would give away the location of their client.
Good deal for the Libyans; for the US Embassy “mark”, not so much.
True, I’m sure there would have been plenty of “freedom loving” Libyans who would just volunteer for the position out of pure gratitude for our help in liberating them.
