David Martosko*, executive editor of Tucker Carlsons Daily Caller, has a hot story. Apparently, Hating Breitbart, the documentary about the late conservative media provocateur Andrew Breitbart, received an R rating from the MPAA. Because of liberals worst of all, Hollywood elite liberals disrespecting Breitbart, even in death.
I could basically quote all of this.
"Producers of the biographical documentary Hating Breitbart got news last week that their film received an R rating from the Motion Picture Association of America. And with that move official Hollywood, long the preserve of liberal culture warriors, has had what appears to be the last laugh on the late Andrew Breitbart."
For shame! And we all know that the MPAA is basically the very epitome of decadent liberal Hollywood. Those liberals love their all-powerful, unaccountable, puritantical and frequently homophobic censorship board! But what rationale did those godless elites at the MPAA give for assigning an R rating to this Very Important Film about a Great American? Swearing, apparently. Andrew Breitbart just swore, all the time. Heres the films director, speaking exclusively to the Caller:
Theres no nudity, theres no sex, Marcus said. Just the occasional f-word.
If anything the R rating should be a result of the gutter behavior of the Congressional Black Caucus and their enablers in the progressive institutional left media, Marcus added in a later email. The hatred aimed at Andrew and the tea party was pornographic!

I thought we got rid of this nonsense!
Stupid. Censorship is evil. I don’t care what the content.
Back in 1939 the Hays/Breen office almost refused to release “Gone With The Wind” because Clark Gable said “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn!” at the end.
“Gasp” he said “DAMN”. Can’t let the little depression-era kiddies hear THAT bad word, can we?
Damn.
The MPAA has been doing this and worse for many years now. Some that come to mind:
The very warm and friendly family movie “Harry and Tonto”, starring Art Carney and a pet cat, got an ‘R’ rating because of one use of the ‘F’ word, that they refused to change. That year, Harry and Tonto won the Oscar, beating out Al Pacino in The Godfather, Part 2; Jack Nicholson in Chinatown; Dustin Hoffman in Lenny; and Albert Finney in Murder on the Orient Express.
The almost brilliant “Angel Heart”, which got an ‘X’ rating not because of the erotic and violent lovemaking between Mickey Rourke and Lisa Bonet, but because it was part of a montage that had rainwater leaking through a ceiling and dripping into pans on the floor. They got an ‘R’ by cutting several scenes of dripping water, which made the scene “too intense”. Dripping water.
“Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer”, got a deserved ‘X’ rating, but not because of its horrifying and graphic content. It got it because it portrayed the serial killer as an ordinary, even boring individual. No ham acting, no bizarre eccentricities, no great emotional content. He looked like somebody who repairs cars for minimum wage, an everyman.
Anyone who pays to see a movie is supporting this kind of stuff...
One of the best Mickey Rourke movies I've seen. "Barfly" was great too.

Angel Heart *was* a brilliant detective thriller right up to the end. Had Harry Angel (Rourke) not been able to solve the mystery and ended up in a bar, in despair, drinking himself to death, it would be remembered as the best detective movie since Touch of Evil.
It would almost be worth it to re-edit the movie and splice in some outtakes from Barfly, the movie Rourke did right after.
Instead, they paid Robert De Niro a fortune to ruin the movie with a bunch of mystical bulldada in the last 5 minutes. Tie up all the loose ends. Don’t leave the movie goers confused by not nailing every single nail into the coffin. Make what had been amazing and complex simple and stupid. Spoon feed the audience with pablum.
Obviously some studio suits were behind this tragic mistake.
“That year, Harry and Tonto won the Oscar, beating out Al Pacino in The Godfather, Part 2; Jack Nicholson in Chinatown; Dustin Hoffman in Lenny; and Albert Finney in Murder on the Orient Express.”
It had nothing to do with those hack actors that nobody ever heard of. It was the cat. Non-union, no SAG card.
None of this surprises me. It was Tipper Gore who personally crusaded to have music labelled and censored.
I wish younger people knew that. So their liberal gods would be taken down a notch or two.
Look, a**hole....
The dat you can hold together in a scene opposite Pacino or Nicholson in their prime in THOSE films, then say something.
Until then, STMFU.
(Typical bullshit criticism from a brainless Philistine who knows nothing, absolutely nothing about performance,)
