The former Libertarian Party vice presidential candidate who has claimed Barack Obama was unknown to him and his fellow Columbia University classmates charges the president is using the Internal Revenue Service to punish and silence him.
Wayne Allyn Root a pre-law and political science major in the class of 1983, like the president told WND that despite a spotless tax record, he became the target of an audit in January 2011 when he received an unsettling call from an IRS agent who called himself a fan of his and considered it an honor to audit him.
Root won a complete victory three months ago in tax court, which found no taxes owed in his 2007 and 2008 filings. But then, he said, something shocking happened something his tax attorney has never heard of in his entire career. Root was hit with a new audit just five days later, for 2009 and 2010.
That order had to come from the highest levels of government, he asserted.
Obama is using the power of the IRS and other government agencies to punish his political opposition and intimidate and silence his critics, Root charged.
Root has been a relentless critic of Obama in more than 4,000 appearances on political talk shows on TV and radio over the past four years, focusing on what he calls the presidents anti-business and anti-capitalist policies. He also writes columns and commentaries for many of the most popular conservative websites.
Root is now calling for congressional hearings to determine if the Obama administration is misusing its power to damage or ruin the lives, drain the finances, or just distract Obamas critics and political opposition.

That’s why we need a flat tax. The IRS and the current tax code just make too tempting a weapon for corrupt politicians of any stripe.
On a related note, when Biden brings up Mitten’s income tax records, Ryan can bring up the 16,000 new IRS agents for Obamacare.
Obama the gangster strikes again. Obama is bad to the bone.
I agree, it is unusual, but the same thing happened to me in 2007. I was audited for 2003 and 2004, the result of the audit was: I overpayed in both years and was issued a refund for $1800 and some change. I though woo hoo, I get some of my change back.
Low and behold, 2 weeks later I received notice that my 2005 and 2006 tax years were going to be audited. Net result: I owed the IRS the entire balance of what they had just refunded me plus $4.00 as they disallowed some of my deductions (a total crock of crap, imo). It turned out to be a wash.
It’s really telling that hardly anyone is surprised by this. I believe it 100%. I wouldn’t put anything past Zero.
Wasn’t Clinton famous for this?
What did you expect...good ethics?
Obama is scum. He will find his way eventually to a nice warm cell at Leavenworth...and a new social network of butt-buddies.
Clintons had the IRS on speed dial. You didn't dare make eye contact or ask them the wrong question. Even O'Reilly was audited.
an honor such as that I would avoid in droves.
Yup. And a rapist to boot.
Ordinary criminal scum, both of them.
I’d bet that if you hadn’t owed anything or been due a refund after the first audit, the second audit never would have taken place. They just didn’t want to have to send you that $1800, so they played loose with the rules, and cleared away the refund. Slimy bunch of turds.
When the first Memorial Day during Clinton’s first term approached, a political website offered free pre-printed postcards to send to the White House. The text printed on the cards told the draft dodging Clinton to stay home, and not disrespect our dead veterans by going to Arlington Cemetary. It wasn’t long after that, that I was notified by the IRS that I was being audited. Funny thing was that I had actually filed the short form, and had no deductions, other than the standard. Because of that, I truly believe the audit was ordered by the White House, and I always wondered how many other people who sent those same postcards had been audited.
Role playing: Advisor to agent, "You know, Mr. Smith, that my client would appreciate your continuing with this audit through 2010 and 2011. He pays me good money and we have trucked over 1000's of pages of support and we have interrupted our calendars to accommodate you here today. As you can see, he has nothing to hide, so we deserve an expedited review. Please take your time and let us know if there are additional materials which may need to complete your work."
